About Program
People Helping People Global (PHPG) is seeking long-term volunteers (minimum of a six-month commitment) to help with its projects in Nicaragua. We’re looking for organized, motivated individuals with previous travel experience or an interest in experiencing the developing world. Fluent Spanish speakers are preferred; however, intermediate Spanish-speakers are also welcome to apply. A background in Finance, Economics, or Latin American Studies is also preferred; however, anyone is welcome to apply. Applicants with prior management experience are preferred.
The main responsibility is to function as the liaison between our in-country staff/clients and the state-side staff. Volunteers would interview potential clients, assist with distributions, attend community meetings, coordinate with other non-profits to provide microfinance plus opportunities, and manage short-term volunteers.
