We ask each volunteer to make an initial contribution of US$50 towards administration costs. All donations go directly towards supporting the learning centers and our other projects, and they’re essential in maintaining our projects. In return you will receive two La Esperanza Granada t-shirts free to wear when you are working with us. There are no additional fees involved with volunteering at La Esperanza Granada, although any fundraising initiatives are welcomed! Volunteers are responsible for their own living expenses for the duration of their stay. La Esperanza Granada is happy to recommend hostels and arrange homestays for volunteers.

About Program

As a Communication and Promotion Assistant, your role is to help our Operations Director by publicizing La Esperanza Granda through social media, managing public profiles, and aiding the development of the organization through promoting volunteer and donor opportunities.

In addition, we often need assistance for various tasks including one-off projects, such as updating volunteer manuals and helping with organizing resources.

This position is available throughout the year and requires a minimum time commitment of 2 weeks, although this is not necessary where the assistance is for a one-off project. Volunteers in this role should be fluent in English and have at least basic level Spanish.

For those looking for a more intensive and a longer commitment, there is the possibility of combining this role in an internship with the Learning Assistant Role or High School Assistant.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
