About Program

Most NPH homes operate a preschool, primary school, secondary school, high school and/or vocational workshops program on or near the property. English is offered at many, if not all of these levels. While textbooks may not be available, in most of the homes many resources have been collected and donated over the years: flashcards, songbooks and tapes, some CDs and hundreds of books. There may also be notebooks with previous plans for lesson preparation. Some of the homes have defined goals for each grade. Hopefully, new teachers will be able to fulfill goals that have been developed and adapt or create a curriculum to meet them.

We do require that volunteers in this role do have teaching experience and want to be in the classroom. While occasionally we get professional teachers, most of our volunteers have had only limited teaching experiences.
