About Program

The Child & Youth Care Volunteer Program in Tanzania provides an opportunity for volunteers to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people in need. Volunteers work directly with children in schools, orphanages, daycare centers, and community programs, supporting their development, education, and overall well-being.

Key Activities include:
- Assisting with daily care routines, feeding, and hygiene for children in orphanages or daycare centers.
- Supporting early childhood education, including literacy, numeracy, and language development.
- Organizing recreational and educational activities to promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Participating in community development initiatives related to children and youth, such as health awareness, nutrition programs, and facility improvement projects.
- Mentoring and providing emotional support to vulnerable children and youth.

Who Can Volunteer:
Individuals passionate about working with children and youth.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
