About Program

Volunteer at an Animal and Bird sanctuary giving hands-on assistance with a variety of exotic and indigenous animals that are in captivity and non-releasable due to various factors like past injuries, ex-pets, human habituation and the fact that they are not naturally indigenous to the area.
This is a wonderful wildlife project for those 16 years and older who help feed, maintain enclosures, clean food and water bowls and so much more as the sanctuary is very large. There are two feeding routes a day in the morning and afternoon, 7 days a week- volunteers have two days off. There is also an adjoining nature reserve with zebra, giraffe and antelope that you can hike, and a small amount of wildlife rehabilitation and release takes place if injured wildlife is brought in by the public. A truly magical setting. Being a 30-minute drive from the coast, there is so much to do in your free time from safaris, beach horse rides, surfing lessons, quad biking, skydiving and more.

Ethical Impact

Volunteer International Adventures focus is on ethical youth and animal projects which we feel very strongly about. We see the need for assistance from international volunteers in developing countries and have seen the difference extra hands-on help can make to communities and conservation if done responsibly.

Program Highlights

  • Join us in providing essential daily care to a diverse range of exotic and indigenous birds and animals at the sanctuary. Hike the wildlife reserve with giraffe and antelope in your spare time.
  • Gain invaluable knowledge from expert animal managers in ethical animal care, ensuring the well-being and stimulation of the animals under their care
  • Contribute to the treatment, rehabilitation, and potential release of wildlife rescued from challenging situations by the public. The adjoining nature reserve is the perfect place to release wildlife.
