Everything you need to know to start your career as a Whale Biologist. We have over 30 years of experience, accepting tens of thousands of volunteers from all over the world and providing expert led training to be world class research guides. Join our volunteering programme in Tenerife and take the following courses to get hands on real life field experience:
1. Passive Acoustics Monitoring: introduction to cetacean acoustic research and training in hydrophone methodology, including the use of acoustic analysis software.
2. Land Based Research: introduction to land based surveying of cetaceans, using a range of binoculars, telescopes and theodolite.
3. Photo Identification: learnt to take Fin Shots, record cetacean behaviour, understand population dynamics.
4. Statistics + GIS (Complete Scientific Skill Course): learn from experts these essential field work techniques.
