About Program

For the purpose of its Humanitarian Aid to Education project, the organization carried out a diagnosis of the Togolese educative system between January and July 2015. The goal was to evaluate the real needs and demands of schools and local populations regarding education in the Adidogomé neighborhood of Lomé. This process took into account 7 schools of primary, middle and high school levels, regrouping over 7000 students. It allowed Afrik’Avenir to define a number of objectives to fulfill in order to support and help improve education in the neighborhood.

In order to carry out this project, Afrik’Avenir is actively searching for interns and volunteers from October 2015 to August 2016 for the following missions:

- Teaching support
- Creation and presentation of awareness campaigns
- Creation and organization of extra-curricular activities
- Social, economic and academic counseling for students

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
