About Program
The historic city of Istanbul is a rich melting pot filled with people, religions, and cultures from all walks of life. From World Heritage sites to the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and so many more sightseeing opportunities, there is never a dull moment in this bustling metropolis.
Among this hive of activity, however, is a city with a large percentage of people living in poverty. Exacerbated by millions of refugees entering Turkey each year, many families are struggling to survive day-to-day as they experience severe hardship and marginalization. Even education can be haphazard at best, with children from poorer families often dropping out and falling into the poverty cycle unless they receive the dedicated support they need. That's where you come in!
Current programs include:
- Refugee Student Support
- Childcare and Development Istanbul
- Childcare and Development Hatay
Don't just be a volunteer...join us in Turkey and become a LOVE VOLUNTEER!

Volunteers with a passion for the creative arts and a love for travel to far-flung, exotic locations should look no further than this exciting program in the ancient city of Istanbul. Volunteers will spend their time supporting children aged 7 to 13, while immersing themselves in the rich culture of this fascinating, diverse city. The program focuses on teaching children social responsibility, entrepreneurship, and creativity.
This program is for compassionate volunteers who wish to provide valuable assistance in the refugee crisis in Turkey. While the violence and conflict never cease to end in the world, millions of people are forced to flee their countries. Turkey is one of the countries that welcomed refugees from many different countries. Strict rules exist around international volunteers working directly in refugee camps so our wonderful local partner has instead arranged for volunteers to work in local schools.
Hi Mehfooz, Volunteers can choose to participate for periods ranging from 1 week to 3 weeks. Longer stays on a single project cannot be accommodated, but volunteers are welcome to combine multiple projects in order to extend their stay in Istanbul but this is subject to availability and individual visa conditions, which are not accommodated by love volunteers.
