About Program

Xperitas cherishes its shared mission with the White Earth Land Recovery Project/Native Harvest, that initiates the projects with the Anishinaabe people. Some of these projects focus on maintaining the Anishinaabe culture, language, and way of life. Possible projects include cultural projects with the youth group, refurbishing of community buildings and harvesting crops in the community gardens, assisting with the seasonal ricing camp and pow-wow preparation.

Our partners have guarded their customs and traditions over the years and today, continue to live in harmony with the truths that shaped and sustained their ancestors. Situated in the scenic prairie lands, volunteers would get a chance to get immersed and learn the aged lore of the land, grow a deeper affinity for nature as opportunities abound for them to hike to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, visit the Wildlife Refuge, or rent a canoe and fish in one of MN's 10,000 lakes.

Broad Exposure, Intimate Connections

A Nation within a Nation. Story telling of ancient and current life. Building raised flower beds for elders, planting heirloom seeds, all surpassed only by witnessing the life giving energy of the Pow Wow.

What would you improve about this program?
The reservation is spread out requiring us to drive to work sites and social/cultural events. The up side of this is the deep, quiet beauty we passed thru everyday! Deer, eagles, thick pine forests.
