About Program

Volunteer programs currently available include: Teach English and sports, research and rescue endangered sea turtles, construct housing with shanty town dwellers, work with a local abuse-prevention NGO, teach and play with kids at a Children and Family Centre, administrative or IT support at a local organization for children and young parents.
Please contact us for a full description of each program.

All volunteers, apart from those with an advanced level of Spanish, take part in a four-week intensive Spanish course before volunteering. The Spanish courses are available at all levels from beginner to advanced and classes take place daily in small groups. Two hours daily will be dedicated to grammar, and two hours to conversation. Classes take place between 09:00 and 15:00 from Monday to Friday. There will be a break of 15-20 minutes between the two-hour classes. At some point during your Spanish course, you will be introduced to the on-site coordinator of your volunteer program.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
