About Program

We need English speaking volunteers from all over the world, especially from countries such as America, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, etc... who could help us together in different programs.

We don't require a teaching certificate, but do prefer you to have some experience of teaching. However, if you have no experience but are passionate about helping our students, we're more than willing to help you get to grips with teaching.

To support our volunteers with their teaching and preparation we have a number resources available, including: class books, teacher's book (very detailed on how to teach lessons in the language centre), flashcards, media, CDs, game ideas and other ideas to make their classes more exciting. Along with discussing fun ideas with your fellow volunteers and us.

Upon completion you'll be provided a certificate and letter of recommendation.

Teachin English in Hanoi

I have just ended an amazing month voluteering with VCV in Hanoi.
I had not thought about visiting Vietnam previously, but this programme sounded like a lot of fun and a really worthwhile cause. I was also attracted by the fact that you are provided with free accommodation, and all of your meals cooked for you.
The experience did not disappoint. It actually surpassed all of my expectations. I loved every single minute, and would not be exaggerating to says its been one of the best months of my life. I wondered whether a month in one place might feel like to long, but I am flying home tomorrow, and wishing I could stay for another month. There is so much to do in Hanoi, and some great trips that you can do to the surrounding areas. I visited Sapa, Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh for overnight stays, and have done a lot of sightseeing around the city during the weekdays before my lesson. You normally teach around 3 hours per day, and get at least 1 days off per week, so there is plenty of time to explore, as well as to relax.
Ms Hay has created a really warm and friendly atmosphere at the apartment and I felt instantly at home. George cooks lunch and dinner each day, and the food is really varied and always delicious. The Vietnamese volunteers are so friendly and helpful, there is always someone to chat to, it is impossible to feel lonely.
Be prepared to have to spend time planning your lessons, but it is really rewarding and fun work, and it is a small price to pay considering how well you are looked after here. Apply to VCV if you want an amazing experience, rewarding work, and getting to know fantastic people from all around the world. You will not regret it!
