About Program

We are a social enterprise in Vietnam. For now, we just want to ignite lights for the children in the North of Vietnam by helping them widen their eyes, to gain access to a proper education as well as career opportunities. We want to maximize improvements and social impact in human and environmental well-being as well as operating corporate responsibility programs.

Our mission is to gradually deal with unemployment rate among youth. Due to the Universities commonly teaching theory with little practical application, Vietnamese youth are faced with many obstacles in finding a suitable job after graduating. Identifying this urgent problem, we would like to provide practical skills in English and tourism for those graduates so that they can have enough skills to better approach career opportunities.

We offer varieties projects with low free and no fee in Education, Responsible Tourism, Homestay and Community Development.

Short-Term Experience, Long-Term Memories

There is so many amazing things to say about volunteering with YESD both as a teacher of English or a 'Project Assistant'. First, you are enveloped in an international community with travelers from all over the world who share their experience with you, furthermore you are able to meet Vietnamese from all over the country!

I was able to develop my skills as a teacher in a comfortably environment without heavy pressure. I was able to work with students from various skill levels. Teaching experiences ranged from University students, to fluent English speakers, to even professional level businessmen and women. While I provided a unique experience to these students through teaching and my Western life-style, they taught me something even deeper about their culture and what it takes for me to teach non-native English speakers. In addition, I created new friends in Vietnam who taught me far more about their culture and heritage than I would ever learn as a backpacker. As an added bonus, these students personally showed me places in Hanoi that I would NEVER find as a solo-traveler. Lastly, the coordinators of this program also helped to send me to a rural village in the Ha Giang Province or northern Vietnam as a teacher. I was able to teach villagers, travel, and live like a local Vietnamese.

Overall, this was an unforgettable experience that did not last long enough! The memories that I have here will surely follow me in life and help me in career choices in the near-future. I could not have chosen a better volunteer experience with the best supporters, fellow teachers, students and locals that you can meet in Vietnam. I highly recommend volunteering for this program above all others if you desire an original, fun, and culturally in-depth experience of the unique people of this country.

Awesome experience in Hanoi!

I have been teaching for one month at YESD Social Enterprise and really enjoyed it a lot! The people are lovely, I felt at home from the moment I arrived. I have mainly been teaching students between the age of 20 en 30 years old with a different study background. They are all very motivated to learn English and they are really involved in the lessons, we had a lot of fun together! The lessons were mostly focused on conversations, as just start talking English is the best way to learn. The environment at YESD is very friendly, it feels like a big family. The staff was always ready to help with anything we needed and we also did nice thing together like going to the cinema. In short, it was great to be here, thank you so much YESD!
