About

Tiko is a non-profit, inter-denominational organization. Our mission is to fight poverty in Katete through better education, health and entrepreneurship - helping people to help themselves while maintaining their traditional culture and values.

As a volunteer you will be getting involved into the real Africa- traditionally and culturally. You will be a part of the community - not as a consumer, but as a member who has a lot of fun.

Some of the skills we think that we need the most are listed below:
- Experience writing applications and fundraising expertise are welcome, as we are always in search of funds.
- Training of all kinds (school subjects as well as trades and arts), simple numeracy and small business skills.
- Teaching keyboard skills and the use of the computer, as well as mental arithmetic.
- Conservation and permaculture; would you know how to raise chicken?

Come discover our cultural differences and share with us your knowledge and understanding!

Highlights
  • Making a lasting impact on the Katete Community
