Outward Bound Costa Rica: Tropical Trek, Raft & Waves
- Costa Rica
About Program
Journey through the thick tropical rainforest as you hike along spectacular valleys, cascading waterfalls, and winding rivers that lead you from campsites to cultural group homestays on local farms. Discover fresh animal tracks, impressive plant life, and rugged trails as you navigate your way. Experience true Costa Rican hospitality and a profound example of rural living as you learn how to cook traditional meals and use a trapiche — a method used to traditionally extract juice from freshly harvested sugarcane. Connect with your coursemates on a waterfall rappel where you will make the adrenaline-pumping 80-foot descent down the face of the falls. After your rainforest expedition, head into a region known for its monkeys, sloths, and beautiful coastline with a visit to Manuel Antonio National Park. Spend time at the beach and learn about local ecosystems before heading to your whitewater rafting adventure to complete your summer adventure.
