Sustainable Action: Costa Rica is a chance for outdoor adventure and hands on learning focused on the Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition to some hiking, swimming, and zip-lining, you'll visit local NGOs focused on various aspects of creating a more sustainable society, socially and/or environmentally. We'll explore how NGOs are tackling sustainability challenges, how this relates to similar challenges in the U.S., and some of the career paths that exist in this area.
The program includes orientation, all in-country transportation, all accommodation, most meals, group volunteer and adventure activities, all entry fees, experienced trip leaders, insight into major 21st century sustainability challenges and innovative ways Costa Rican NGOs are tackling them, discussion of the academic and career possibilities in social and environmental sustainability, travel medical insurance, and alumni resources.
