14 unforgettable days of surf, friends, palms and spicy food

hi all! in April this year I spent two of the most incredible weeks in the South of Sri Lanka, with Ticket to Ride and Errant Surf School. The accommodation was just in front of an amazing beach, and a short tuk tuk ride away from lots of other beautiful and pretty much deserted beaches where you could surf, at different levels of difficulty. I loved the people that I met there, that's what really made the difference between an okay vacation and an incredible one. the Errant staff, Max, Angela and Lee were amazing, very helpful and always ready to meet our needs including Max who was taking us to surf everyday outside of the surf classes, or recommending beaches we could go to! Surf instructors were very very good, Gilmar and Lucy used an approach different from all the others I had experienced before (e.g. using a swiss ball on the beach to understand how balance works) and they are so lovely btw! Food: food available at all time, in big quantities and very good. Breakfast was my favourite, with fresh fruit every day, eggs, toasts and coffee served in this incredible location. everything was included in the price, and Chef was ready to cook at any time you would ask him. Dinners all together, lots of barbecues, curries, good conversations and good music to dance to really contributed to make the experience one that I will not forget. I would definitely go back with Errant (probably testing a new place) but I highly recommend the Sri Lanka experience, Ahangama is in a very good location to visit other sites such as National Parks, the colonial town Galle, tea plantations, small buddhist temples, and even a small rave on the hidden Jungle Beach for those who want to party! thanks to Errant to make this such an incredible holiday!

Surf and Yoga in Sri Lanka

I spent 2 weeks with Ticket to Ride surfing on Sri Lanka's beautiful south coast. The area is a tropical paradise with palm-fringed beaches, awesome surf, mouth watering food and natural beauty which is rugged and untouched. The local people are welcoming and hospitable, eager to share their country with travellers.

The trip itself was fantastic! I gained from it what I wanted…amazing surfing with good instructors and perfect conditions. The group was great, and fun times were definitely had!

If you're after an easy going trip, with awesome surfing, yoga to ease those tired muscles, good food and good company…then this is a trip for you!!

Be ready to switch off, relax and unwind!!! :)
