Our most popular wildlife projects in Africa include:

  • South Africa Wildlife Conservation Volunteer - Provide a helping hand on an amazing private game reserve in South Africa, tending to the Big 5 and even helping care for rare Bengal Tigers!

  • Namibia Wildlife Conservation & Sanctuary - Deep in the Namibian bush you have the rare opportunity to work with some of Africa’s most extraordinary creatures - hand-raise baboons, care for injured animals, and track and monitor big cats.
  • Uganda Mountain Gorilla Adventure - See one of the world’s most endangered animals, the Mountain Gorilla, in their natural habitat. A perfect way to conclude your adventure in the pristine Ugandan wilderness!

To apply for any of our projects, just click on the orange “Apply Now” button on the Frontier website and fill in the short application form. One of our volunteer advisors will then give you a call back to answer any questions that you have.

Yes, I recommend this program

A wonderful experience

I felt welcomed and safe throughout my entire trip. Walking in the mountains and seeing the gorillas was great. To ensure that the gorillas remained safe from human infection, good physical fitness was required. The staff took great care not to disturb the gorillas in their natural habitat. The guides were good, and altogether I had a wonderful experience.

What would you improve about this program?
I would have benefited from improving my fitness before leaving on my trip, in order to get the most out of the experience.
