About Program

Inspired by DownWest founders Howie and Alec’s experience guiding in Alaska, Alaska Backpacking is a small-group summer adventure with a focused leadership curriculum and engaging lessons about local communities and pressing environmental issues, all in a setting of unsurpassed beauty. Explore the land of the midnight sun while hiking across open tundra.
