About Program

The Art of Active Transformation is a 3-week immersion for aspiring actors and theater artists incorporating acting history, set design and construction, movement and voice work, and performance of one-act plays by Anton Chekhov. This program brings together a handful of drama students with deeply experienced group of international theater professionals in the context of a residential learning community.

Program elements include:
A seminar-style class focusing on the History of Acting Theory from 1880-1920
Movement and physical intensives to engage the body (moving through space), and voice (speaking and being)
Hands-on experience with set design and construction
Participation in a weekend of theater, including student and professional actors performing modern classics from Ibsen and Chekov
Shared community life, including meals, mentorship, and community celebrations in beautiful Viroqua, Wisconsin
