Join like-minded high school and middle school students at Putney's Pre-College Program in Vermont this summer! Leave grades, tests, and homework behind as you dive into a theme of your choosing. Learning is active, project-based, and often takes place outside. In the afternoons, get out to hike, swim, or enjoy extracurriculars like yoga or a cooking class.

Choose one seminar per session (two sessions available) from a wide range of options and take part in engaging discussions and hands-on projects that allow you to explore new interests or dig deeper into existing passions. Get a taste of college life as you become part of an inspiring and supportive community of Putney Pre-College faculty and students.

  • Choose from a variety of seminar themes: arts, language, business, activism, media, science
  • Live on campus at Castleton University and enjoy full access to the college’s top-notch facilities.
  • Learn from local and regional experts, artists, entrepreneurs, and guest speakers
  • Explore interests in elective workshops and take part in fun extracurricular activities
  • Work on an independent project and present in the final days of the program
