Stamps Pre-College Experience

I participated in the Stamps Pre-College program back in the summer of my sophmore year of high school (currently a sophomore at Stamps now). This program was such an eye opener for me, I genuinely believe I wouldn't be where I am today without it. While my high school had great college prep support it lacked in the arts departments. Stamps gave me a place to blossom and figure out what it meant to possibly attend art school alongside making life long friends and solid competitive work for my portfolio.

It gave me a chance to realize I too could have a chance at art school and make work I would soon be proud of. I had an amazing experience with professors, staff, and fellow peers. Thanks to the program I was able to compile a strong portfolio to attend this school once I was in my senior year.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Have fun and work hard! While this can be exciting and new, use the 2 weeks to the fullest! it seems like a decent amount of time until you arrive and realize it goes by in a flash. make the most of your time and materials provided while also giving yourself time and leeway to interact with peers.
