Take your learning to the next level through hands-on projects in this immersive internship experience! GLA's Travel Internships are a great option for students who seek to explore a future career path and and gain a global perspective in their field of interest. Interns collaborate with a global nonprofit or social enterprise and work to complete an internship project through fieldwork, guest speakers and experts. Using the framework of the UN's "Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals" as a learning framework for learning, interns draw connections between their experience and the greater significance of their projects.
All successful Internship program participants earn 60 Internship Hours, receive a letter of recommendation and can earn optional college credit. Complete a final project under the guidance of an internship supervisor and receive feedback that you can carry with you to future projects or endeavors.

A pioneer of ecotourism, Costa Rica draws many tourists to its extensive series of national parks and other protected areas. Costa Rica began reversing deforestation in the 1990s, and they are moving towards using only renewable energy. Head to the cloud forest, relax on the beautiful beaches, or visit a coffee farm.
