About Program

The Student Sponsorship Program provides over 2,500 impoverished, indigenous children from elementary to high school with the opportunity to receive an education.

We are in currently in need of a needs assessment and program plan for a Student Retention Program, which would aim to decrease the number of students in our program that drop out of school. The objective of the Student Retention Program is to ensure that students active in the Mayan Families Student Sponsorship Program advance to the highest grade possible.

We are currently in the needs assessment phase of this program and hence are researching what circumstances put put our students at highest risk of having to abandon their studies. Based on the information obtained through this needs assessment we will solicit funding to create a program to support students in their scholastic advancement.
