Qualifications
  • Knowledge of, previous experience in research or be carrying out an academic research project as part of your university degree.
  • At least a B1 level of Spanish if you will be carrying out qualitative data collection (interviews/surveys etc) with the local community. Spanish is not a requirement for more quantitative data collection.
  • Basic experience or strong motivation to work as part of a team away from home.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • However, the most important thing is that you have an open mind, positive attitude and willingness to learn!

Being a non-profit organization, we try to keep our costs down to ensure our programs are accessible but whilst also being able to operate effectively and move forward making lasting impact. Internship costs will depend on the length of your program. The longer you stay with us, the lower your weekly contribution becomes as a discount is implemented each week.

A 30% deposit is required to secure a place.

About Program

Are you an undergraduate/postgraduate student looking to carry out your dissertation/thesis research abroad? Come to Lobitos in Peru and help out our sustainable NGO whilst carrying out your research or support in some of our ongoing research projects:

- SDG Impact Research: Quantifying the impact of EcoSwell's projects on the community.
- Surfonomics: A study to determine the economic value of waves to coastal communities through surveys and data analysis so that these communities can make beneficial, informed decisions regarding coastal protection.
- Groundwater study: This study conducted alongside UK universities aims to investigate the extent & quality of groundwater resources in the region that could potentially be sustainably tapped into, managed and used for reforestation irrigation or potentially human consumption.
- Market/business research: Create ecotouristic business plans for the local community or conduct market research with local artisanal fishermen.
