Staff Spotlight: Fu Wei

Title:
Marketing Manager
Fu Wei is the Marketing Manager at XMandarin Chinese Language School, where she oversees daily marketing operations and helps promote the school’s programs to local foreigners and international students. She focuses on practical strategies to increase visibility and student engagement.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory is from when I was doing my master’s in South Korea. On a short school break, I took a solo trip to Busan. I walked along the beach, ate fresh seafood at the local market, and watched the sunset from a small mountain temple. It was peaceful, and I felt proud to travel alone in a new country.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Before I was only doing small parts of marketing. Now I can plan full campaigns and talk with more people. I learned many new skills and also how to work with an international team. I understand better how to share ideas clearly, manage time well, and solve problems when things don’t go as planned. It has helped me grow a lot, both in work and in life.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One student came to XMandarin just for a short time to study Chinese. After their course, they told me they found a good job in Qingdao and decided to live here long-term. They still come back to visit us and say XMandarin helped them a lot with language and life in China. Hearing their story makes me very happy and proud of our work.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would choose the visa program because it lets you stay in China for a longer time and really focus on learning Chinese without hurry. You also have more time to enjoy life here, explore the culture, and make friends. The visa program is very helpful because it makes everything easier and less stressful with official support and clear guidance.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Many schools don’t help with visas, but we give real support for long-term learning and legal stay in China. I was very proud of our team when we helped a student who had a serious visa problem. We worked quickly to solve it, and the student was able to stay and continue studying without stress. It showed how much we care about our students beyond just classes.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think the biggest factor is listening. If we really listen to students and our team, we can understand their problems and needs better. Then we can make good changes to improve our services and work environment. This helps build trust and loyalty, which is very important for the company to grow and succeed over time.
