What is your favorite travel memory?
My favorite travel memory is from my time in Barcelona and Valencia, Spain. I loved visiting the beautiful churches and learning about fascinating details, like the chalice used at the Last Supper. As a big foodie, I also had the best time trying all the amazing local dishes from fresh tapas to traditional paella. Exploring the cities’ history, culture, and flavors all at once made it a truly unforgettable experience.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
I’ve grown tremendously both professionally and personally. Over the past 8 years, I’ve learned how to support students from diverse backgrounds, manage various programs, and create meaningful connections with partner organizations. I’ve learned so much about being a supportive guide and mentor to students, helping them navigate new experiences, grow, and feel at home. Being part of their journey has deepened my skills as a mentor and program manager, and has made my work incredibly rewarding.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
Some of the best stories I’ve heard from return students are about the lasting impact of their time with Connect-123. Of course, it’s rewarding to hear how their internships helped them land amazing jobs, but what’s even more heartwarming is learning about the lifelong friendships they’ve made through the program. Many students keep in touch, travel to see one another, and continue to support each other long after their internships end. Seeing those connections grow and thrive is truly one of the most special parts of my role.
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
Cape Town truly has the best people, food, culture, and overall vibe, which is why I would always choose to participate in a program here. Being based in this incredible city has given me the chance to explore its beauty, from the iconic Table Mountain, local markets and beaches to hidden gems tucked away in vibrant neighborhoods. That said, if I had the chance to experience another program, I’d be equally excited to visit Buenos Aires. The city’s rich culture, vibrant neighborhoods, and passionate people are incredibly appealing. I would love to experience the local lifestyle, from tasting authentic Argentine cuisine like empanadas, steaks, and Malbec wine, to exploring the historic streets of San Telmo and the colorful corners of La Boca.
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
Our focus on creating meaningful, personalized experiences for every student. We don’t just offer internships, we guide students, help them grow, and ensure they feel supported throughout their journey.
I’ve been especially proud of our team when I see the impact of our work firsthand. Whether it’s helping a student secure a dream internship, seeing lifelong friendships form between participants, or overcoming unexpected challenges together, the team’s passion and commitment always shine through.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
The biggest factor in being a successful company is truly caring about our students and partner organizations. At Connect-123, success isn’t just measured by the number of programs we run or the destinations we offer, it’s measured by the experiences we create and the impact we have on the people we work with. When we genuinely prioritize our students’ growth, safety, and overall experience, we build trust and loyalty that extends far beyond the duration of a program. Each interaction matters, from helping students navigate their internships to supporting them in adapting to new environments and cultures.
Equally important is the care we show toward our host organizations. By listening, collaborating, and understanding their needs, we create meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships. This foundation of trust ensures that both students and partners feel valued, respected, and supported, which in turn strengthens the overall quality of our programs.
