What is your favorite travel memory?

My first year abroad as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. Arriving in the Bay Area right after the dissoution of the Soviet Union was like an interstellar trip. Everything was different, many things had been unseen or unknown by myself personally.

Support from our American colleagues and shared experiences with Russian teammates helped me to adjust, improve, and enjoy. That experience made me a new person.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

My background is in software. Starting a Russian study abroad program outside of Russia was a real challenge. We had to find countless solutions and be very creative.

I am happy our team has managed to develop Learn Russian in the European Union into an accomplished study abroad provider for US universities and government institutions.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The best story I have heard from a student is how participating in study abroad with Learn Russian in the European Union turned out to be a life-changing experience.

Many students are fascinated with the history and culture of the region and discover new areas for studies and research. Other students may realize how a program in Daugavpils can shape their professional career, and help them make important decisions about their future. Some students find a loved one among fellow participants and establish happy families.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Picking just one program would be very difficult. They all provide excellent study opportunities and help bring Russian language proficiency several levels up. All programs expose students to the amazing and dramatic history of Daugavpils and Latvia, and introduce the Baltic region to program participants who usually have known very little about it. Studying along bright young individuals from the US and European countries can become the start of long-lasting friendships and professional networking.

If I could, I would take them all.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Learn Russian in the European Union is a blend of passionate individuals and a unique linguistic and cultural environment existing in Daugavpils.

Our team of true professionals working at the highest standards has a proven record of delivering successful results to customers with the most challenging expectations. Daugavpils provides an unmatched geopolitical positioning for Russian-language study abroad programs.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Of course, many factors are essential for a company to be successful.

No doubt, people are the most valuable among them. Outstanding individuals can deliver outstanding results even in difficult times and challenging conditions. An enthusiastic, creative, passionate team is the foundation of a successful business.
