What position do you hold at KCIP? What has been your career path so far?
Ruhaina: I am the teacher for Toddler 1 group at KCIP. I have taught Islamic Montessori School in the UK. I have also taught at International School in Uganda, preschool in Tanzania and I am a trained Montessori teacher by profession.
What do you most enjoy about your role?
Ruhaina: It gives me great satisfaction to witness and be a part of nurturing the developmental skills in a child.
What do you find most rewarding about working at KCIP?
Ruhaina: I am able to renew my teaching skills, get support and mentoring from other teachers and the director, and have a chance to test my skills as a Montessori teacher. I am learning and experiencing so much!
What do you think a volunteer would gain from working at KCIP?
Ruhaina: By volunteering at KCIP, you will have exposure to a multicultural environment, diverse nationalities of children, beautiful materials for teaching, application, and utilization.
What tips would you share with someone considering this program?
Ruhaina: “Good learning experience, learn new ideas” The Director shares ideas and mentors; therefore, it is very beneficial.
