Changing Early Child Development in Uganda

Kampala Community International Preschool is located in the capital of Uganda, Kampala. Our school is set on Naguru Hill, one of the cities seven hills. We are in a calm and serene environment conducive to the learning of the children. Our unique mentoring program enables volunteers to have the opportunity to work alongside our highly-qualified teachers and learn how to engage with children in an international school setting, plan developmentally appropriate lessons and learn important skills for running a successful classroom. Our program helps volunteers to engage in different activities such as teaching children a variety of motor and kinesthetic skills. They will also be encouraged to participate in circle time planning, play games and practice rhymes with the children. Volunteers will be taught how to create useful resources for the classroom, as well as, provide childcare support. Our program provides professional development for both our local teachers and volunteers.
