What was your funniest moment?

It was the day waow, my teacher taught me the numbers and she put us to count from 1 to 100 she had never done it I felt very weary

My experience studying mandarin through TCU Chinese Language Centre was something new. I used to think that learning mandarin was close to impossible and was not interested in the slightest, however after joining the Mandarin Course offered in TCU-CLC, I find it possible to read and write characters and understand pinyin as well . The teachers were extremely kind and provided as many educational materials as possible. They made learning so much more interesting and engaged with students throughout every class. Highly recommend this course its truly an experience to learn mandarin here.

I started the Tzu Chi Chinese Language Center Mandarin course online in July 2020. So I learned a lot very quickly. First of all I want to say that the language center has a good staff of teachers. Of course if we have a problem we can talk to the staff and they will always help us to solve it. We have a textbook with Chinese characters and pinyin. We follow it with the help of our teachers. Teachers are also friendly and they teach us in a way that we can understand. By this time I had learned from 4 teachers at the language center. They are all very kind.

Tzu Chi Chinese Language Center is the best place to go if you want to learn Chinese. With modern technology it is possible to learn Chinese very quickly.

What was your funniest moment?

I am learning Chinese with two other students. One day the teacher told us to draw pictures related to the Chinese word. Then the picture of one of our students was very ugly but we said nothing for him and he also knew that it was a very funny picture. So I will never forget that moment and it was a very funny thing.

My teachers have been excellent! They’re very tech savvy and proficient in using programs to teach you online. Within two weeks, I was reading characters! When I read my first paragraph in traditional characters, I couldn’t believe it! I was so proud of myself :) Just moving from doing things in pinyin to writing actual characters was so amazing! Watching my favourite TV show with Traditional Mandarin subtitles and being able to understand the meaning is fantastic! Our brains are true marvels, believe me. I highly recommend Tzu Chi University Language Centre to anyone truly interested in learning Chinese Mandarin.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

We had only been working in pin-yin, then my teacher told me to try reading some characters and I thought I wouldn’t be able to. I was so terrified but with her patience and support, I was able to read the sentence! I couldn’t believe it! It just made click in my brain. That’s the best thing about learning this language!

Actually when I start Chinese Course i knew only ni hao.. So thanks for our teachers teaching us well, now improving little by little. Now i can speak a little. hopefully at the end of the course can be speak. .
My target first to learn speaking Chinese. later learn how to write.
i understand how important chinese language in future. Especially work with Tzu chi Foundation, it is very important. so i study hard.
In addition to the class, sometimes i listen to chinse leaching youtube channels aswell. also i pick more through those
