The Lamda Project

Why choose The Lamda Project?

The λamda (λάμδα/lamda) Project was founded in May 2018 in Athens, an ancient city with historical roots, as an effort to spread the Modern Greek culture worldwide. We offer modern Greek language classes, as well as the opportunity to choose between several different options related to Greek history and culture (Greek philosophy, ancient Greek, Greek mythology, Greek historical figures).

Lamda Project

Excellent tuition and support. I loved the atmosphere, the interactive and fun teaching techniques, the support from the staff and the interaction with fellow students both during and outside lessons. The Lamda Project is located in a vibrant area of Athens with excellent access to the centre and hood options for eating and accommodation. I would recommend this project for anyone seeking to learn Greek in a supportive environment. They were flexible, helped me to find a level where I felt comfortable and able to improve my speaking skills in particular.

Pros
  • Great tuition
  • Great location
  • Fun atmosphere

Superb school!

I have been at Lamda in September/23 (2 weeks - Intensive).

The teachers (I had 2, both energetic, funny, patient and well prepared - I miss them!) and staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful, and the environment and atmosphere were perfect, as well.

Some foffe shops, bar and tavernas around the school.

Usually there were some extra activities, what it is a very interesting plus.

My personal experience was very positive and I can say that enjoyed every minute.

I vividly recommend this school! (and intend to return asap)

I must return to Greece just to attend class here once again!

Outstanding experience at this school. The teachers are sensitive to adult learners and obviously educated in the latest pedagogy for language acquistion. I felt like a valued member of the community of learners each week of the two weeks I attended. The school is also a terrific resource for travelers to Greece. As part of learning about the culture in Greece, I received a few great suggestions on reasonable places to eat, shop, and sightsee in Athens along with helpful information about the transit system in the city.
I must return to Greece just to attend class here once again!

Lamba Greek B1

Lamda offers introductory "A " courses in Greek for tourists augmenting their knowledge on visits and more advanced courses in the language. They also offer cultural activities and courses on Greek culture. The instruction is thorough and rigorous: four or five hours per day, interrupted each hour by short breaks and casual conversation. Coffee, biscuits/cookies and plenty of water are provided. The school is located in Exarcheia to the university, hence lots of bookshops and restaurants and convenient to the center of Athens and the touristy areas like the Akropoli and Plaka.

Pros
  • The grammar is thorough.
  • The teachers are dedicated and friendly.
  • There are also group cultural activities.
Cons
  • None

The Best Place for my "Bildungsurlaub"

The λamda Project is a beautiful, international place to learn with great teachers, fun and success. The new building is located in a nice aerea with beautiful coffee-places, tavernas and shops near Omonia Metro Station. I came for two weeks Bildungsurlaub. The classes had a good size. There was all material to start and i had every day good structured lessons. Also the cultural program in the afternoon was very interesting. There is no better place to dive into Greek Language and Culture! After two weeks it was fun to feel the progress. But there is much more to learn. So, they will see me again! ;)

What is your favorite travel memory?

In 2017 I traveled to Italy. I was a student from the University of Athens participating in the Erasmus program at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. For six months I was living inside a fairytale called Venice. Beautiful landscapes, small boats sailing in the canals, and me walking through every single alley of the city. I enjoyed a lot, my classes, at the university, but even more, I enjoyed partying in Venice with my fellow students.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have met people from all around the world and they have shared with me their incredible stories. Every single one of them has a different background and a unique reason for wanting to learn Greek. Meeting all these people has changed me a lot. Also, I have gained a lot of experience so I can teach my students in accordance with their learning style and their goals.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

A student of mine started learning Greek because of love. She fell in love with a Greek guy and she decided to start learning Greek. She wanted to speak Greek so she can understand him better and express her love to him in Greek. And her plan was successful. The guy was impressed by her progress and fell in love with her as well. Today they live together in Greece as a couple.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would definitely go for the Standard Intensive Greek Language Course. I imagine myself as someone who does not know Greek at all. I am sure I would be amazed by the progress I would have made during this class. Also, all the fun activities and games in Greek would match my learning style and I am sure that they would help me learn and have fun at the same time. So, for sure, Standard Intensive Greek Language Course.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What makes The λamda Project unique is that we present to students the absolute reality about Greece. Of course, we admire ancient Greece and we present it to students but where we put our focus is on modern Greece and modern Greek culture. Every time that my team and I are sharing true stories about Greece with our students, I feel so proud.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

What makes The λamda Project unique is the people in it. Everyone is a unique person and feels free to show his authentic character among the others. As a result, a strong and valuable team is formed and everything works perfectly. Also, students that are coming to the λamda Project feel this team spirit and are becoming members of this team. So the team is expanding and is becoming what we love to call The big λamda family.
