I’ve had immensely fantastic experiences and support with having help from Olivia and Laura whenever I had questions. Any question I had, it was answered so fast and efficient. The program overall was a great success and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to teach English as a foreign language. The prices are reasonable and there are always options for discounts and flexible pricing that is reasonable for everyone. The certificate program really focuses on different aspects of teaching and covers so many points. Thank you again!

Completing the 180-hour Level 5 TEFL Diploma has been an incredibly rewarding journey. The course was comprehensive, well-structured, and provided me with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in teaching English as a foreign language. I am grateful for the assistance I received from Laura Graham, who was my tutor support and ensuring I was able to complete my assessments with minimal difficulties.

I particularly appreciated:

What would you improve about this program?
Overall, I had a very positive experience with the program. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to include even more practical classroom examples and downloadable lesson planning resources to help new teachers feel even more confident before starting their first teaching position. Additional short video demonstrations of real classroom situations would also be a valuable addition. Aside from that, the course was well organized, easy to follow, and the support from Olivia and the team was excellent throughout the entire process.

honestly can't recommend them enough

Honestly, I can't recommend the Level 5 TEFL Course enough!! It was one of the best decisions I've made in a WHILE. I think the course itself is really well put together, and the dashboard is so easy to use that studying never felt like a chore...

A massive shoutout to Lisa, who always replied to my emails within about 6 hours. No question ever felt like a silly one, and she was always so helpful! Jess from the employability team was amazing too and really helped me find teaching opportunities after I finished the course. The post-course support has been kinda fantastic!

Merlin, the AI chatbot was kinda cool, on the learning platform. He was genuinely useful whenever I got stuck, and some of his comments actually made me laugh out loud haha

The Discord TEFL Community has honestly been one of the best parts of the whole experience. I've met so many lovely people from all over the world, and it's been such a great place to get real advice, swap ideas, and connect with other teachers while travelling and i dont know many other companies that have this

After completing the course, I started teaching English online alongside running my own online Qigong business, Moonrise Studio. It gave me the freedom to live in Thailand, and I genuinely felt like I was living like royalty! I also used TEFL AI tefl.ai to help with lesson planning and activity ideas, and it made teaching online so much easier. top tip for ya there!

Overall, this course gave me so much more than a qualification—it gave me the confidence, support, and freedom to build the lifestyle I always dreamed of. If you're thinking about teaching English abroad or online, I'd recommend The TEFL Institute in a heartbeat!

A Great First Step Toward Teaching Abroad

I am an English Language Arts teacher in the United States, and I've always wanted to teach abroad. I enrolled in the 180-Hour TEFL Course, and it has given me a much better understanding of how to teach both native and non-native English speakers.

My background was initially in business, but after a stint teaching TEFL in Thailand, I was hooked. After coming home, I completed a CELTA qualification in Dublin and numerous specialist courses. It wasn't long before I jetted off again, this time to the north of Italy. I spent two years living la dolce vita and teaching English to students of all ages. Since returning home, I have been working with The TEFL Institute for three years, managing the company's business partnerships and overall operations.

What is your favorite travel memory?

There are so many to choose from! My top memories come to mind are spending my first Christmas abroad in soaking up the sun in Koh Samui—ending up in an Irish pub, of all places. In Italy, it was watching the eruption of Mt. Etna from a hotel in Sicily or sipping on a Spritz with friends while taking in breathtaking scenes of the Dolomites.
 

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

It feels like a lifetime ago since I started working for the company, because I have grown so much in that time. I have heard so many inspiring stories and adventures from colleagues and TEFL students, which have made a huge impact on my outlook on the world and reinforced my passion for travelling and teaching by seeing firsthand the benefits it brings to people's lives.
 

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

It's difficult to pin down just one, as I hear new stories every day. One in particular was a student who decided to use his TEFL qualification towards volunteering in Thailand. Even though he had recently experienced a great loss in his family, he decided to go ahead with the opportunity anyway. Hearing that really hit home for me the impact TEFL abroad can have on someone's life. Whether it is to enable them to start fresh, change careers, help others, or just open their mind to a new culture, TEFL can change your life for the better.
 

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would do all the programmes if I had the time. But if I were to choose one, I would go to South Korea. East Asia is a destination I haven't explored yet. The culture is extremely unique and has one of my favourite cuisines. The job opportunities and benefits of working as a TEFL teacher are always very competitive. South Korea is definitely on my bucket list!
 

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Our company is like no other! While our team may come from different backgrounds, we all share a passion for spreading the word of TEFL and love to see people go abroad to live their best lives. Truthfully, I am proud of my team every day. The determination it takes to keep up in the fast-paced industry of TEFL while always putting the interests of our students above everything is inspiring.
 

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe collaboration is a driving factor for a company's success. Contributions from people of all kinds of backgrounds are important. Particularly in such a dynamic industry as TEFL, the methodologies used in EFL teaching are always collaborative, people-focused, and creative. I think these same elements should be integral parts of a company.
