I trusted the outcomes of this course to teach me about TEFL. It was a simple and straightforward course, enabling me to learn the foundations and many tips when teaching. Teaching methods, students’ ways of learning and many techniques were explained in a way for the majority to understand. I also enjoyed completing the quizzes, they kept the course engaging and reviewed my learning. I am very happy I chose this course and I definitely recommend! Great job TEFL institute I am impressed and will complete more courses!

  • Easy to understand
  • Easy to navigate

Definitely Recommend

I'm loving my experience with the 180-hour Certification! You can tell that the creator's goal is to ensure learners retain information and know exactly how to put it into practice, thanks to genuinely engaging tests and assessments. The assessments are take real time and effort because they are encouraging you to think deeply and analytically and actually use the skills you're learning. Honestly, this makes whole journey so fun! You can apply creative methods to teach and incorporate information.
The Certification covers an amazing range of topics, including Phonetics, Young Learners, and Adult Learners, across both Virtual and In Person classroom settings. The graders are incredibly fair, and the communication across the platform is consistently encouraging and uplifting. My only suggestion would be to add even more interactive materials, but, honestly, this has been such a fantastic program, and I could not recommend it more!

What was your funniest moment?
So I wrote my assessments in Google Docs to make sure I didn't lose information or hard work. On the last assessment, I neglected to copy and paste part of an answer into the exam. Also, this is how I missed a question on the second assessment.
Pros
  • Phonetics
  • Graders are clear in communication
  • There are some practices in the course
Cons
  • Online can be limiting
  • Assessments can be scary
  • No real live person to interact with

Level 5 TEFL Course

Having just completed the above course, I can only suggest that if you are thinking of signing up, in my opinion, you should definitely do so.
The course itself is comprehensive and allowed me as the student to navigate through at a pace that suited me, and furthermore, allowed me to revisit specific topics when I felt I needed to.
As an existing CELTA graduate, I wanted to revisit some basics of EFL teaching and perhaps, unlearn some bad habits. This course provided me with a complete opportunity to do this, and in addition, I found that the support offered was exemplary, whether related to any technical issues or just general questions about the programme.
Following the course as it is designed is super helpful and allows for a steady progress, and although I felt some of the exercises and revision points were a little 'slow' at times, the foundational sense of the course was clear.

Pros
  • The support team were fantastic and timely.
  • A very useful course, that as an experienced TEFL teacher, I found compete and informative.
  • The course has obviously been well-thought out.
Cons
  • I did experience some minor technical issues
  • Some of the work I completed was extremely simple and therefore, maybe could be removed or enhanced. For example, some of the questions asked very extremely simple.

TEFL Thailand

I had an amazing experience teaching English in Thailand with the TEFL institute of Ireland! I received a lot of support and guidance from the team which helped the process of moving abroad stress-free, especially because it was my first time living and working in Asia.

I chose the TEFL institute of Ireland because I had heard of the company from a friend and I checked out their website and social media to get more information about the courses on offer. The website had a clear description of the courses. After reading many positive reviews, blog posts on their website and speaking with the course recruiters, I decided that it was my best option. They offer many courses, and I decided to go with the 120-hour TEFL certificate which is the industry standard and allows you to teach anywhere in the world. After completing the course, I decided to apply for the 5-month Thailand internship. I found the course very interesting. It was a great learning experience; the platform is easy to navigate. The course covers a range of topics, from grammar to classroom management. The team are so supportive, and they would answer any questions I had.

The Thailand internship was well organized. I taught M1 and M2 student (ages 12 to 14), in a local city in the northeast. I got to experience authentic Thai culture and lifestyle. The locals were so welcoming, and I made lifelong friends. The cost of living has been affordable, and the salary is more than enough to live comfortably. I am so grateful for the internship program, and I have learned so much about myself on this journey.

I was provided with job support including document preparation and in-country support. It was very clear what was involved in the program, so everything felt well organized, especially when arriving in Thailand, with orientation, travel plans, and visa prep work. I was guided throughout the whole process. The support of the team was reliable, and I would highly recommend them. A special thanks to Oliva, Lisa, and Walter for their support throughout the whole process. Even after settling into the school, they would check up on me to see how everything was going and provide any guidance I needed. Overall, I had an amazing experience, and I would highly recommend the TEFL institute of Ireland for those looking to start their English teaching journey!

TEFL Thailand

I chose TEFL Institute after researching providers online, they had come highly recommended, and I can see why! The experience has been life changing and I can't recommend them enough. Before I even signed up I was receiving support from the team, they answered all of my many questions about the program.

The 120-hour course itself is well-structured and covers the core foundations needed for teaching including, lesson planning, classroom management, teaching methodologies and student engagement. It’s self-paced, which made it easy to complete alongside my daily life. As someone new to teaching, the lesson planning and video links were particularly useful in helping me feel prepared for the classroom. While it is theory-based, it gives a very solid grounding for first-time teachers and helped me feel more confident before starting work abroad.

From Ireland to Thailand I was provided with excellent job support including documentation preparation and in-country support. This helped keep the process stress-free, especially as a first-time teacher in Thailand. Everything was very well organised, particularly when landing in Thailand, orientation, travel details, documentation and visa prep work went very smoothly.

I taught M1 and M2 students in a small city in NorthEast Thailand, it truly was a life changing experience. The locals were very welcoming and I made lifelong friendships with other teachers. I am so grateful to the internship program, I have learned so much about myself as a teacher, a traveller and the impacts I can make abroad.

Overall, I would recommend this program to anyone looking for a flexible and structured entry into teaching abroad. Again, the support of the team was reliable and dependable, I couldn't recommend them enough. Special thanks to Olivia, Lisa and Walter for their support throughout the process.

The Best TEFL Diploma Course & Institute.

I have recently finished with the Level 5 TEFL Diploma from The TEFL Institute, and I am pleased to share that the experience and the results are better than expected.

I became an experienced online and classroom teacher with the knowledge I gained from the course materials. The course prepared me to be an effective teacher in many ways. I am now knowledgeable in lesson planning, gaining and maintaining full control in the classroom, teaching grammar, and much more.

I was most impressed and appreciative of the support and positive feedback I continually received from the tutors throughout the duration of the course. I would like to express my appreciation to Laura and the support team.

I received my first official digital certificate within days, and the process was smooth and reliable.

I highly recommend The TEFL Institute to all looking to start teaching English.

I have no complaints and loved every second. Thank you.

What was your funniest moment?
One of my favorite moments was actually while I was studying a grammar module. I was so certain of myself after answering a practice question that I didn't check my answer again. I only realized later that I totally over-complicated what was a simple module of practice question.

I laughed at myself. It was a reminder that even as a learning about teaching, things can be over-complicated. It was a very effective learning moment on the importance of keeping things simple and clear.

I know that moment was important and I'm glad I can share it.

Pros
  • The course progressed logically from basic, fundamental concepts through the more advanced concepts, skills, and techniques.
  • Very practical, pertinent information was provided in the course, especially the components on lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching
  • The tutor and support team were helpful, and their tendencies and characteristics were responsive and professional. All of these aspects helped in creating a learning atmosphere that was positive and beneficial.
Cons
  • There was no practical teaching component included, so I had to seek real classroom experience separately.
  • Feedback on assessments, while helpful, could sometimes be more detailed to give deeper insight into areas for improvement.
  • Some modules could benefit from more interactive elements or real-life teaching scenarios to enhance engagement.

Finding Confidence as an Overthinking Student

I’m a total overthinker and get overwhelmed easily, but the team made me feel calm and supported from day one. I did the 180‑hour course, and it was super thorough and really well put together. Laura and Rachel were amazing every time I needed help, always replying straight away, and everyone else was just as ready to jump in when I had questions. I’m genuinely so glad I chose The TEFL Institute, and I’m really grateful for how they’ve looked after me. Lisa in the career department was so helpful, and my job with the Native camp was the perfect way to kick off my next year as a TEFL teacher. Thank you all for everything.

Great Course

I took the 300hr course. It took the whole 6 months to complete. I was happily surprised by the content. Each module made me think and analyse my teachings. I have gathered meaningful information and activities about different approachs to teach English.
The introduction to Teaching Business English and English for Exams have also given me a first impulse into what are required to guide learners in such courses and widen my teaching perspectives.
I definitely recommend the program for new teachers as well as those who wish to improve their teaching skills.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The assessments were rather long, between 24 to 27 questions to fill for each exams. I took the time to look for information, read articles about the subjects before answering. Somewhere around the Last module of teaching exams, it looks like i could write a dissertation and never put an end to it.
Pros
  • New information about teaching processes
  • Revision
  • Analysis of teaching methods
Cons
  • Long assessments
  • Répétition from général content to business or teaching exams
