Mostly, at first, I thought that the course would just be a set of instructions and that I'd be able to finish it quickly but, surprisingly, everything in the course was very helpful and for sure going to be useful for teachers like me, who are only just beginning with their journey as ESL Teachers. I liked that at every module, you're always presented with tips or advice at the end, the little things that can certainly help you become a good, successful teacher. They really do make sure that you'll be able to know everything as much as possible in order to prepare you for the real thing.

The vidéos are very well executed. Many different approach by different teachers. This was very helpfull. I really loved the passion that goes into the didactique. We are not just teachers, but human beings learning to self reflect. It's very human to build the course around the student interaction and not the teacher. The course was very complete. I feel more mature and ready to take on a whole class. I would love for this to become mandatory. It's a great personal experience. We become better teachers, but better human beings before anything.

What was your funniest moment?
Whitney made a little mistake during the montage and it was cute :)

I looked at many different programs, all with numerous options and cost factors. Just when I was feeling overwhelmed because I still wasn't finding just what I was looking for, I came across TEFLPros. After seeing their program outline, learning more about the founders and understanding their practical skill component, I was excited. The best part and what convinced me my searching was over, was the video component of the program where the skills being taught are demonstrated by seasoned teachers! The combo of practical skill development and the videos made this an easy decision!

If you read the program details you'll see and agree that the program is exactly what any new teacher needs and one that fully prepares them for a TEFL career.

The format is very easy to work with and is organized with multiple learning methods and practical skill development experiences, and of course the videos.

This program also excels because of how Jos and Whitney, and staff support their students. This is done within the program itself and with timely responses to all inquiries. It's clear they genuinely care about their students' success with their program.

As a more senior person, I can't express my gratitude enough for this program. With TEFLPros you get everything you need to have the skills to be successful, the support to address any concerns/questions along the way and the assurance you have been well trained and are ready to be a TEFL teacher.

Thanks again, Jos and Whitney!!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Ensure you take your lesson planning seriously and learn all you can from the teacher videos! They are worth taking the time to learn from experienced teachers. You'll be glad you did and you'll be confident that you are ready to teach when you complete the program.

My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time looking through different courses and the thing I loved about TEFLPros was the really personalized feel about everything - like they knew exactly how we were feeling as new potential teachers and what our real concerns were. The thing that really was the icing on the cake with these guys was their support. I have a LOT of questions and Abby, their academic coordinator, was responsive and super helpful. Even if she wasn't sure about something, she found the answer and got back to me. I never got an automated response/email to my questions. (I'm on their mailing list and that's different because it's more about resource etc.)

I also liked that TEFLPros was really straightforward from start to finish. I felt like looking at the other courses, they all blended together into one nameless, faceless marketing email. But TEFLPros had a human component in their operations that everything else seemed to kind of lack. This was also the case on the actual course. The co-founders are the two main instructors on the course (8 teachers in total) and there are almost 50 hours of instructional video so it feels almost like as if I were in a real classroom. Actually a lot of those hours, like probably more than 15, were in real classrooms.

Overall, I feel really prepared and I'm excited to start teaching online (my boyfriend already started!) and maybe teach in-person in the future. Thanks for a great first step TEFLPros :)

My girlfriend and I had been contemplating taking a TEFL course for a while and wanted to do it together. We searched around and read a lot of reviews. TEFLPros kept coming up as one of the top rated courses so after some discussion, we went for it. The course really gives a lot of instruction on practical skills which I personally appreciated since I want to be able to do my job well. It was helpful for me to see them actually writing out the lesson plans step-by-step and then seeing them taught in real classes. I also really liked the practical component of observation and submitting my own lesson plans. There are multiple choice quizzes as well, but the hands-on experience and feedback were the thing that really stood out compared to other online options we looked at.

Although I'm teaching online at the moment, the skills that I learned from this course have already helped me get through writing lesson plans and I'm looking forward to teaching in-person soon.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I was surprised at what a huge difference there is between speaking English and teaching English. I admit, I was skeptical at first about why I had to get certified to do something "I already knew how to do". But teaching and speaking are wildly different and this kind of training is really critical.

What is your favorite travel memory?

I have many to choose from, but I once rode a horse up a volcano in Nicaragua. Another favorite involves picking and roasting coffee in Belize. My favorite, undoubetedly, however, is the time I met Judi Dench in India, and played an extra in her film with her!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

When we look at how online teacher training is scaling dramatically, it teaches me lessons about how we're connecting as a global community, and how we can deliver all kinds of education and information for universal access. This has helped me to devise new ways to communicate in marketing to boost our online community.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

I'm always amazed at how quickly students get jobs after they graduate. Even students with no prior experience come back and tell us how they got a job teaching online, straight off the back of the course. The course really is a hands-on experience which seems to prime students to get going immediately. We rarely hear of students who can't find a job.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I'm a permaculturist, so I always love to evolve my teaching practices. The 120-hour course is a great choice for anyone wanting to learn how to teach any subject, especially where language barriers are concerned. I found that it helped me to devise teaching strategies that bypass language, to find a middle ground of mutual understanding, and then build from there.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We're an all female-led company right now and I love the strong female energy that's behind the concept. I've found that the whole team is far more communicative and open than other companies I've worked with. While the team is still intimate, it means we can brainstorm together to come up with truly innovative ideas to bring to the community,

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Communication. Customers want to know how they can personalize courses to meet their requirements. We're excellent at communicating directly with customers to tailor learning to fit their goals. Everyone who emails us gets an email back, and we keep active on social media to ensure we're at the heart of the TEFL conversation.
