Best decision!!

Booking a tour with Welcome to Travel is by far the best decision I've ever made! Thanks to all the legends working here we've made so many unforgettable memories during and after the tour.

After the best 8 days with your new travelfam you won't be alone! The expertise of the WTT team is so valuable and for me as a solo traveler they really made me feel confident to go out and start living my dream gapyear!

Making new friends, roadtripping, winetasting, surfing, sightseeing and so much more!

What would you improve about this program?
Wouldnt change a thing! WTT has already thought of everything you need to take care of :)

Awesome Start to My Year in Australia!

I honestly wasn’t sold on the concept initially. I wasn’t really concerned about being able to make friends or get around a new city, but I looked into what they offer a little more carefully and it seemed like a great time. Darryl, Adam (co-founders), Clauds, and their whole team are awesome! I ended up having an incredible time and the support they offer after your experience is above and beyond. The whole experience is really well thought out. It has a lot of variety and activities without feeling rushed. Highly recommend. Really can’t think of anything that they could improve on. Worth starting in Melbourne even if you were thinking of flying in somewhere else.

What was your funniest moment?
The pub crawl is great! It was hilarious seeing the group in that environment after doing adventure activities all week. I think my first surf lesson was maybe the funniest moment for everyone watching.

Cannot recommended highly enough

As a solo female traveler heading off on my own for the first time I was pretty nervous but Welcome to Travel (WTT) made everything in the first week (and thereafter too) so easy.
They really care about you, as a person, and being travellers themselves they can relate to the stresses and anxiety you may be having. From them arranging transport from the airport to the hostel to the ongoing support I still get today, a few years on, I can’t fault them. Book with WTT; you honestly won’t regret it.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Absolutely nothing. The experience was amazing……..

Melbourne 8 day arrival package

Had an incredible trip exploring Melbourne, Mornington and Phillip Island. Would highly recommend Welcome to Travel, they made it super easy to navigate between the different spots and managed to see an unbelievable in a short time without it being overwhelming. Definitely one of the best trips I’ve ever done, so many incredible places. It has given me a great insight into Australia and I will definitely be using Welcome to Travel in the future.

What would you improve about this program?
Not possible.

Absolute legends. Great service, awesome staff, extremely good knowledge about the travel industry. 100% will be booking again. Hahahahaha everything was booked to precision, really well timed, can’t wait to book more tours. Anyone coming to Melbourne, I would strongly advise contacting these guys for anything. They have great understanding of the backpacker lifestyle (having done it themselves) and they’ll always provide you with loss of options.y time in Melbourne would have been a lot more stressful without them!

What would you improve about this program?
It can’t. Keep being legends

What is your favorite travel memory?

My overall favorite travel memory is hiking Machu Picchu and seeing that sunrise after a tough trek, absolute magic.

My favorite Australian travel memory would kayaking through Katherine Gorge in the Northern Territory. The sun was beating down and the view was consistently perfect as I kayaked. I was truly in awe of the size of the towering cliffs on either side of me. I felt like I was just a floating little dot in comparison.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have learned that not everything will work first time, and to not treat that as a negative.

You should think to look at it from the perspective of 'if that sounds amazing now, how good will it be when you redraft, redesign and rework it to perfection', and that's what we try and do with every aspect of the company, as opposed to settling with the easy option.

I suppose this is linked to the above but I've also learned more and more that myself and Darryl are ultimately accountable - if we don't put it in, we won't get it back. There's no relying on others which is hard, but also the ultimate freedom and feeling of pride when it comes off.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

There's no single one. It's always a special feeling to hear how our advice and personalized tips took passengers trips beyond their expectations. To know it's those experiences they're raving about to family and friends back home naturally gives you a lovely warm feeling.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Well, probably the Welcome to Melbourne program... it's the only one we do! It's not that we're lazy, it's just where we're at this early in our business, and it's what we know best.

I have no doubt in my mind that Welcome to Melbourne is the most exciting, diverse and personalized arrival package that is on offer in Australia, and that's why I'd choose it.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Our company is based on the adventures of two best friends going traveling in 2010, with the idea of being home 6 months later. That's pretty unique.

What makes me proud is the fact we've consistently supported and competed with each other which has in turn aided our progression in our careers. We've had several ideas that we could have done for the sake of it but that's not us.

This is about the passion for the idea and how we can make it the best experience a traveller can get. The confidence and ambition to pursue an idea and work tirelessly to make it a success fills me with pride. I'm welling up here.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

It's important to discuss each idea at length, not only to decide if it's a good idea but also to progress a basic idea in to a much bigger idea that could have massively successful impact.
