The maximum age to become TEFL certified at ITA varies country to country. Some countries have a mandatory retirement age which could be 55, 60 or 65. years old. However the job markets in each country are each different. Many countries want someone with a degree in any subject with a TEFL certification (which you will need to be 21). Some countries will have a limit around 40 for most first year teachers at 40 at private schools due to cultural hierarchy.
