What country did you teach in and would you recommend it?

I taught in Costa Rica, the U.S., and Madagascar (with the Peace Corps). I would absolutely recommend teaching in Costa Rica! It's not the most lucrative region, but it's so beautiful, and not too hard to find jobs down there.

San Jose has the bulk of the jobs, but if you can, try to get out of the city and live elsewhere.

I taught in Mexico and I would definitely recommend it. The school I taught at was very helpful in supporting us with housing and always paying us on time. The Mexican people were very warm, inviting and helpful.

To answer the question is almost like asking who you married and was it a good marriage. Everyone is different and wants something different. Here's an index of over 100 International TEFL Academy alumni who wrote stories, Q&A's, blogs and videos about their experience. This will help you see what grabs you (or probably make you want to go to all of them!)
