Interning with a startup in Bali was the best decision I've ever made

Two years ago I was planning to move to NYC to work for a public relations agency. Fast forward to today and I've completed a working holiday in New Zealand and I just finished an internship for a startup in Bali. It was a completely unexpected path and I'm thrilled to I have had such an incredible experience.

Immediately after arriving in Bali, I met with my startup founder and began learning more about public relations and marketing. I also had access to multiple courses and materials to help further my knowledge. The startup I was working for had already launched but was increasing its efforts in the marketing area. All of my ideas were taken seriously and implemented, I even had full control over the social media accounts.

I worked in one of the top co-working spaces in the world and was surrounded by successful entrepreneurs each day. Everyone is amazingly helpful, shares their expertise, and wants you to succeed.

I lived with other interns who were from all over the world. It was so interesting to learn about their cultures while also be immersed in the Balinese culture. Interns have the opportunity to work on their own ideas as well. Within two weeks of starting my placement, I met a business partner and we are now working on the idea. Another intern is currently working on an app idea and another is improving the side business he owns back home.

The price can seem a bit steep but I honestly think it's 100% worth it. I think the only thing they could improve is the housing. It's not bad by any means but it would be nice to have a communal area and a kitchen.

Interning for a startup has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm so passionate about this program and want everyone to hear about it!
