Great company, so glad I went with Sine. Especially for 1st timers

I'm now 1 month into my role at SINE and I have nothing but good things to say about the company. I've been helped every step of the way with visas, finding accommodations, and anything I've needed to help get settled here. Also, they respond to emails very promptly so if you need some guidance or whatever, its always just a quick email away. Also not having to lesson plan is a massive time saver. Also, the people and the students in Bangkok are great and will make you feel right at home. Also if you like watching fights, there are constantly different events going on (some free) at least in Bangkok

Pros
  • providing assistance
  • compensation (especially relative to the amount of work expected of you)
  • fun times
Cons
  • you've gotta pay for your own visa costs
  • lots of british people in training

Head Of SINE English Teachers

SINE helped a lot when I first started. I had no teaching experience. It's a good stepping stone for anyone that wants to start their teaching career. The lesson plans and material are provided for the teachers, this is a great bonus.
I teach new students every year which broadened my range of classsroom management skills, dealing with students of different age groups.
SINE's management teams are great, they have been very helpful and are a great support during the difficult pandemic times.
I've been with SINE for 4 years and the work life balance is great. Not planning to leave anytime soon.

Pros
  • Good working hours.
  • No work stress.
  • Many benefits
Cons
  • New teachers come and go all the time, someplaces will have a constant change in teachers.

Sine Education. Good company, good people. A decision I'll never regret.

Joining Sine Education changed my holiday in Thailand into a place I now call home. Visa's, work permits all taken care of. The job security is great with a management team I trust. As long as you can arrive on time and follow the classroom scripts, the job is easy, fun, and immensely rewarding. Salaries paid on time, every time. Lot's of holidays and plenty of time to enjoy life away from work. The lesson plans/exams/activities are already written which makes our lives as teachers so much more relaxed and stress-free. This company changed my life and I'll personally be forever grateful to the managers that made it possible for me. I now have two young daughters here in Thailand and an amazing life. The past 10 years have been the best of my life and hopefully I'll have many more ahead with this company.

Pros
  • Job security/satisfaction
  • Work permit/visa's all taken care of by the Sine 'Foreign Teachers Assistance' department
  • Free-time to explore and travel outside of work. Evenings, weekends and so many holidays!
Cons
  • I'd like longer contracts than 10 months. The two month break at the end of term can be tricky to navigate having a family.
  • Not all Thai High School classrooms have air conditioning.
  • Like most people, I'd prefer double the pay and a four day work week

Opinion on working for Sine

I've been working for Sine for over 5 years, have had a and still having a superb time working for them. I've had the opportunity to work both in Bangkok and Isan.

Mentioned earlier in the ratings,I only have good things to say about the management, problems do arise, that's a part of life, but if it's possbile they will be sorted out immediately. I was made to feel very welcome from day one and that's still the case.

I'd also like to mention the people who work for FTA, it's their job to sort out our visa's and work permits and they do an absolutely superb job at it. I've spoken to people who work elsewhere and they've had problems. During my time with Sine I've done exactly what FTA said to do and I've had no problems.

When I joined Sine I didn't have a lot of teaching experiance so was a little nervous.
I found out on day one that if I followed the teachers script there was nothing to worry about. The script is there to help which it certianly does..

If you're looking to teach in Thaialnd in my opinion Sine is the way to go!

Pros
  • Good management
  • Meeting many geat people some of which I'll stay in contact with even if they of myself leaves Sine
  • Fun lessons to teach.

Extremely positive experience thus far

I've had an amazing experience so far working with Sine. The program staff are extremely supportive, they respond to any query or concern in a timely manner. I've been working with the company since May 2021. There were some difficult challenges living in Thailand while working online during the pandemic. The staff were extremely supportive and understanding. I felt very comfortable calling the program staff at any time about any of my concerns.

I've got placed at one of the best schools in Thailand. I love and enjoy working every day at my school thanks to Sine. Sine makes your life very easy as a teacher with all lesson slides and lesson plans provided to conduct the job in a professional matter. The lessons are very fun and it creates positive energy in the classroom. I think working with Sine is brilliant for first-time teachers with brilliant comprehensive teaching training before you start to teach in the classroom and with all the materials provided to solely concentrate on the teaching element in the classroom and most importantly having fun!

My head teacher with Sine is very helpful and understanding. She helps and guides me efficiently for me to be the best teacher possible. I feel comfortable talking to her and getting any ideas for me to improve further as a teacher. Thanks to Sine and my head teacher, I feel that I'm great at my job and enjoy every moment of teaching. Compared to my time working in the west, this company has a nice relaxed atmosphere, which I love!

I've met some incredible teachers at the school, which ultimately will be friends for life. We have lots of social events that we do together such as birthday parties, bowling and soccer! I love meeting teachers for social events with the school, recently we won a teacher soccer competition.

Overall, Sine is an amazing company to work for. I haven't had one problem yet. They certainly would be a great trustable company to work for while teaching in Thailand, highly recommend anyone to join us! 10/10.

  • Excellent Program Staff

Sine Education

I have worked for Sine education for around 6 years. I will probably work for Sine Education for another 6 years, and so on. Management and HR are helpful and supportive. Salary is fair and on time. Lesson plans and PowerPoints are meticulously prepared for teachers, which makes our job easier and allows us to focus on the important aspect of the job:Teaching. Visas and work permits are oraganised by a whole team who work professionally to ease the burden of empoyees' paperwork. Coordimators are employed at each school to liase with the schools, which helps a great deal with the coomunication between teachers and schools and reduces some of the administrative burden of being a teacher. I would definitely recommend working for Sine Education even if it was for short term because it will provide you with good teaching experience and an overall positive experience.

Pros
  • Visas and Work permits are taken care of well.
  • Professional
  • Overall great working experience
Cons
  • Only 10 month contract for even long term teachers.

A consistently reliable and comprehensive employer

Sine is an excellent entry-level education company. All lessons and equipment are prepared for you in advance, tailored to the general level of English at your placement school, and designed to be approachable and engaging for a wide range of teaching experiences. Comprehensive classroom training is also offered in multiple formats, and answers to all other inquiries are only one short email away.

The management is extremely personable and ready and willing to assist you with your international transition before, during, and after arrival. You will never feel alone and left out to dry, even after many years of working there. All concerns are listened to and addressed fairly and with consideration to the difficulties of living and working abroad.

Visas, work permits, 90 day reporting, and all other matters of paperwork related to employment are paid for and handled by longtime industry professionals. All salaries and bonuses are paid promptly, consistently, and on-time without fail - the company's bookkeeping is impeccable by all global standards.

Overall, the entire hiring process and working experience is incredibly smooth and painless. None of the work comes home with you after school and you are free to enjoy the many wonders that Thailand has to offer without the shadow of lesson planning looming over your shoulder.

Teacher

Working as a TCP (Total conversation program) teacher is way easier than I expected. The teaching resources provided doesn't requires addition preparing and planning. Teachers task in the classroom is more of facilitator. You get to interact with young minds in different levels(grades) that subsequently helps you explore different skills and learn many new things everyday. Most lessons in the course are simple which helps learners understands quicker and knowing how fast your students learns from you is a best treat and daily motivation.

Pros
  • Easy lessons
  • Ready-made lessons
  • cover class bonus
Cons
  • Same level students are put in one class (High achievers in first classroom and lower achiever in last classrooms)
  • Some schools only have fans in the classrooms than air conditioners
  • Not all the school have same rules. Some schools requires foreign teachers to do canteen duties, flag ceremony and gate duties.

A Great Easy Life Awaits

I've worked with SINE for a year now, and its been great. 3 years ago after "burning the candle at both ends," I decided to move abroad to make a new life. It was definitely a rocky start. After a few hiccups; freezing Mongolia, and not being paid for 4 months in Vietnam, I ended up in Thailand. Thailand is an amazing, affordable, friendly country that allows for a great life. And SINE provides the support to make that happen. The lessons are easy, the students funny and the staff there to help.

Pros
  • No Lesson Planning
  • VISA Support
  • Good Pay
Cons
  • Not Speaking Thai
  • Learning "Sabai Sabai"
  • Cost of imported Beef
