Most difficult thing was to cope with the insane amount of people and the fact it's a whole new world.
Keeping an open mind about everything in Shanghai definitely helped. It was always helpful to take distance physically and mentally from certain stuff, like crowds, the traffic and peoples way of interacting with each other.

Through this internship in shanghai I do understand China a little more and the culture in workforce. I was having a finance internship in shanghai, it gave me the experience that I cannot get from elsewhere, I been leaning about shares and currency exchange and mainly how to get along with other local workers, once you in China, you have to open your mind and accept thing which you think that isn't normal back home. It thought me a lot, I absolutely enjoyed it!

Meeting new friends! In Absolute you don't have to worry about your schedule, cause Absolute will plan it for you. The only thing you go to worry about is do I have enough TIME! Since in Shanghai is 24/7 non-stop city and there is plenty of Absolute activities waiting you to join. Also you will make friends with many people from other different countries!

Absolute is good at taking care of us, maybe I should said baby site us sometime, they are always here whenever we need them!
Overall I love my internship and it was a amazing experience in my life!

I interned in Shanghai through Absolute Internship in 2013. It was an amazing summer, and the Absolute staff contributed greatly to that. Living in China can be difficult to navigate at first, but Absolute helped us along the way. They walked us through everything - the little details of living in China, how to get to work, how/where to get any type of necessity, what were the best restaurants, etc. They were always there for us. We had a great group of interns from all over the world. Absolute Internship was the best choice of intern programs because they truly care about their interns.

I studied Tourism and Hospitality Management in undergrad, so I was interested in doing an internship in tourism. Absolute found me the perfect internship with a huge Chinese travel agency headquartered in Shanghai. The internship was exactly what I had asked for and it showed that they had listened to the details of what I was interested in.

highlights were the great people i met and how we all helped each other out as we were all in the same position in another country not speaking the language. The food was excellent in Shanghai and so was the bar and nightlight scene.

Difficulties were communication with the public as not many people spoke english.

I had the best time of my life this past summer. I learned so many new things about the Chinese culture. The authentic Chinese food is delicious and interesting all at the same time. The internship I had was a great experience and helped me learn many new skills that I use daily. The transportation in Shanghai is very easy to use and everywhere, whether it be by a subway, a bus or a taxi. The social scene in Shanghai is absolutely amazing! There is always something to do every night of the week. The things that were a little challenging were trying to communicate with the local people, because of this I would recommend learning a little Mandarin before coming to Shanghai. I learned some before the internship and it helped out a lot. One concept I took away from this internship is to always be open-minded. Organising an internship abroad by yourself is a very tedious process- finding an internship that fits you, finding an accommodation, going through the visa application process, and many more. With the help of Absolute Internship, everything went smoothly with minimal effort. The next thing you know, you'll be interning in a new country, with every minor details dealt with enabling you to focus on the important stuff- the actual work experience and enjoying yourself in a new country.

Absolute internship helped me with finding a company which is tailored to my skills, knowledge and career goals. This enabled me to optimise the usage of my knowledge and ability. I was also advised on the visa application process and sent all the required documents very promptly which made the process very smooth. Sponsored dinners occurred throughout the internship and the program also included a sponsored trip to Hangzhou which was great fun.

The Shanghai internship provided me with real work experience which I doubt I would have acquired had I worked in a larger investment bank. I gained a lot of knowledge, but more importantly, I acquired life- long skills in the work place that will be very valuable for me in the future. During the internship in Shanghai, my outlook was refined and the challenging work also forced me to reflect on myself- my capabilities and limitations and what I can do in the future to improve myself.

I went to Shanghai with Absolute Internship for two months last Summer and it was absolutely amazing. I was treated as an equal despite my age being much younger than my peers (I was 19 and most others were around 22) and there were many social events planned that helped make everyone feel at home. We were even given the opportunity to go to a town outside of Shanghai for the weekend and see a cultural opera. The people I met through Absolute I now feel I will know for the rest of my life -- that's how close we were.
As for the internship I was placed in, I was able to get a spot as a Public Relations Assistant at a marketing firm right across the street from the Pearl tower. It was a very legitimate position and easy to access from the Hotel we were staying in (the subway is a few blocks away). Absolute placed me in this position and provided me with hundreds of business cards, which really came in handy on the job and while networking.
Not to mention, the price was unbeatable. Most other internship programs I heard about were at twice the price and for half the time, and did not receive an experience near as positive as ours. I highly highly highly recommend Absolute Internship.

Absolute Internship provided me with an outstanding internship in my field now allowing me to achieve the future occupation I desire! Living in posh quarters with a wonderful group of other students, Absolute ensured a safe journey to and from work every weekday and was always available at any time if I had any concerns. Absolute arranged for our group to tour around the city and it took no time at all before the students knew how to get around the city. We also attended sponsored cultural and social events where we visited cities around Shanghai and were able to meet and learn from executives from larger well known corporations. Absolute Internship truly provided a life changing summer for myself and my group and now I am more prepared for what life will bring me.

Hello everybody, I interned in Shanghai for 3 months last summer. Absolute Internship helped me find an internship that was related to my major. For me, the internship placement was the main attraction of AI and it was a truly great experience.

Also, the apartment exceeded my expectations, I liked it so much! Great location, loads of space and well furnished. It was located in a nice neighbourhood, only 7 minutes away from the subway station that can connect you to anywhere you want to go. The apartment was also close to the French Concession which is a nice area to hang out at night with your friends when you are bored.

Absolute internship provide me with a sim card, transportation card, and much more. The coordinators of the program are very friendly, I felt like if I had known them for years. Whenever I had a question they helped me, no matter the time or situation it was.

The price of the program is very considerable compared to other internship companies, you get a lot for what you pay. Their weekend trips are awesome, we used to hang out as a family. All the other interns were nice and very sociable, it's your family abroad.

I was impressed by the quality of Internships I was offered. I was offered a full time job after I finished my internship, but I was unable to take it because I still have to finish my degree. I had a great experience in Shanghai thanks to Absolute Internship.

I enjoyed my internship so much that I got another internship with AI for this summer 2013, they care for the customer and their customer service it's amazing. They help you get the visa, and everything.
