The Language House is a community, you arrive and are immediately welcomed into the fold. You will form deep meaningful connections with your fellow classmates and previous graduates. This is not a program where you put your head down, do the work and move on. Whether or not you are planning to stay in Prague, it doesn't matter, you will have support, advice and make great friends.

Be prepared to work and work hard. It's intense and well worth it. The days are long, they have 12 hours of classroom teaching throughout the course. If you want a program where at the end of it you feel confident standing in front of a class and teaching an effective lesson. This is program for you.

Plus Prague is a beautiful city.

I took TLH's TEFL Certification course in September 2013 and it was hands down one of the best decisions of my life. First off, Prague is an incredible city-- the magic still isn't gone 2+ years later! But The Language House truly provided me with everything I could have wanted from a TEFL course and then some! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to help in every way. The owner, Chris Westergaard, is very involved and goes out of his way to make your experience the best possible. From helping with getting a job, to finding housing, to simply making friends in a new city, TLH covers all the bases. However, what I found most special about the course is the huge alumni network of people still living and teaching in Prague. Having that built in community makes all the difference in adjusting to living in a new country. I highly recommend TLH to anyone thinking of moving abroad to teach!!

After taking this course, I truly felt confident and qualified as an English teacher, and was able to take on a full schedule of courses with adult students. The Language House offers a helpful staff with excellent job-placement guidance. I highly recommend this program.

The Language House provides new arrivals in Prague a great base to prepare for a new city. The TEFL course itself is in depth and informative. The amount of practice teaching hours are fantastic! You leave the course with experience teaching a wide range of ability levels.

I'm so glad I chose to go to The Language House to get my TEFL certificate. With 12 hours of teaching practice under my belt I was able to teach my first solo lesson with confidence. THL also helped me to find a job, make friends, get my visa and start looking for an apartment. I couldn't have asked for more.

I am currently living and teaching in Prague, thanks to The Language House. I chose The Language House because I knew it was an intensive course that offered more hands on teaching experience than any of the others I found. I had a response to my application immediately and within 24 hours was speaking with a staff member from the course. They were organized, accommodating and supportive every step of the way. Whether it was looking for housing, visa information or seeking employment they have been there 100%. If you are looking for a life change or simply want a one of a kind learning experience I would strongly recommend them.

I graduated from The Language House’s TEFL course in March 2015 and I've not regretted a single thing. If you're curious about going abroad and trying a TEFL career, temporary or permanent, TLH is a great place to start. While the course itself is intensive, the focus that the course requires fully prepares a person to start their TEFL career from the get go. I've known classmates that were shy to speak in front of people at the beginning to teaching and planning lessons being an afterthought within the span of the month-long course. The staff is as helpful as they are direct in terms of what one should know to prepare to become a teacher, in terms of the knowledge essentials such as grammar, as well as adapting to life in Prague. Personally, I've recently reached the one-year anniversary mark of my year living in Prague, and I'm still absolutely grateful for the experience TLH provided.

I move to Prague about a year ago to take a course with The Language House. It was a great decision and I have loved living in Prague. TLH offers what is, in my opinion, the most comprehensive course in the city. The teachers and observers are knowledgeable and engaging, and most of them have living in Prague for quite some time. The 14 hours of practice teaching were very challenging for me, but prepared me for the teaching world of Prague, and really improved my public speaking skills and my understanding and implementation the course material. Students are tested on grammar, teaching methodology, and classroom presence. I also took the Young Learners and Teens extension, so I am certified to work with students of all ages. Prague is a great place to teach because new work is always available. I found a full time job at a private school not even two weeks after the course ended thanks to TLH's reputation and network of teachers all over the city. If you are considering moving to Prague and teach, this is an excellent and thorough program that you should look into.
