The class work was impressive and the teachers were exceptional. It really opened my eyes to what it means to be a teacher and how challenging teaching English can be. I highly recommend this school!

I hadn't been in a classroom in 20 years nor studied grammar in 50. They covered a lot about where English fits compared to other languages. I'm a note taker. I took about 50 pages of notes per week. Im glad I brought notepads with me. It's not that they don't exist in Istanbul, but I wouldn't have known where to find them.

Your classmates are important. Work together whenever possible. The grammar teacher was extremely knowledgeable and impressed us all.

The intensive class is tough but possible. Don't go sightseeing during the first weekend. You still need to find your footing. Plan your extra sightseeing time for the week before or the week after the class.

Everything was amazing! Thank you Istanbul Kent English for being so accommodating this last month. I learned so much from all the great instructors and had a lot of opportunity to teach. I met so many amazing people and it was such an amazing eye opening experience. I learned so much about not only how to be an effective teacher, but also about Turkish culture. They also helped me outside of the course- from finding accommodation to travel advice. I would highly recommend this course to anyone!!!!

Yaaay I just got my TEFL certificate from Via Lingua Istanbul! Proud of this achievement especially as it was such a challenging course. With so much practice teaching English during the course (with real students! Thank you for the trust) I feel fully equipped to enter this profession.

Although I’m a linguist by education, I learnt a lot of new information in this area during the course. Lessons on class management were also eye-opening - I wish my school teachers had known the same strategies and techniques as Kent English taught me, my school years would have been much more productive :)

The experience I had with Via Lingua Istanbul was amazing. It was my first time travelling to Turkey, and I really appreciated how caring the director and staff were throughout the whole course. They constantly checked in and made us feel right at home, and it hardly felt like I was in a foreign country. The trainers were highly experienced and qualified, and they challenged us enough to make us feel ready to be efficient ESL teachers. Overall, I really recommend this course for anyone who isn't certified yet!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was completing the TEFL course in Crete! Maria was an amazing, patient, thorough and talented teacher. She made the demanding schedule fun and was always friendly and supportive, especially during the practical teaching sessions (which can be nerve racking!) Her ability to present the material clearly and provide resources and encouragement was essential to my success in excelling as a TEFL student and now as a teacher of English as a second language! I encourage anyone considering a TEFL certificate to come to Crete and learn from Maria and her wonderful staff (Alex is also amazing!) and to experience the beautiful city of Chania.

This intensive TEFL program far exceeded my expectations. The instructor, Maria, provided the course material in an easy-to-understand and engaging manner. Maria is truly a gifted teacher. Her teaching methods are engaging and interactive, and she somehow managed to make learning grammar fun! I learned so much from this course, not only about teaching English as a foreign language, but how to improve my skills as a teacher by modeling Maria's style and techniques. I will be forever grateful that I chose this course at the Via Lingua school over the many other options available for TEFL certification. I had the privilege to collaborate with Maria and Alexandra doing the TEFL course in stunning Chania, Crete. The teachers were extremely helpful, supportive, and informative. The course structure was great as well as offered helpful materials. It was also challenging and intense and it helped me a lot to acquire new skills. Feedback was also constructive and delivered in a professional way! Not to mention the stunning City of Chania that leaves you speechless with its beauty! It was an absolutely amazing experience overall!

Via Lingua's TEFL Program in Crete, Greece was an exceptionally positive experience and allowed me to gain, firsthand, an essential understanding of teaching fundamentals. With the encouragement and mentorship of Maria, it was the best means of developing my pedagogical skills – skills that are necessary for any educator. The program opens doors to a wide range of interesting and relevant coursework; opportunities to build relationships with amazing students and faculty; connections to internship and career opportunities, and so many other elements that make a TEFL program a worthwhile and transformative investment.

I had an amazing experience on Via Lingua’s TEFL programme in Chania, Crete under the guidance of the wonderful Maria! She has an infectious, supportive, and bubbly energy which makes learning both interesting and fun. We covered a lot of material on the course, but we still had time to explore what Crete had to offer on the weekends which created a really fulfilling experience in a lot of different ways. The practical part of the programme was invaluable and taught me great foundational teaching skills which I’m excited to put into practice in my first job in Korea! I highly recommend this programme run by a fantastic teacher in an absolutely stunning location in the Greek islands.

I had an amazing experience with Via Lingua Florence! I was really impressed with the structure of the course. While only 4 weeks long, they used every minute intentionally to give us theoretical knowledge and practical experience. It was the perfect balance of challenging, but not too overwhelming. The instructors were also very supportive and engaging and I felt welcomed into the community. The school was in the heart of Florence's city center, so it was easy to explore the sites after class.
