First of all - to volunteer at VP Bali was one of the best things I have done so far.
I have been here for 10 weeks and I don‘t regret a single second I spend in this programm.
VP Bali is not just about teaching kids and traveling. It is about giving the kids a chance to have a better future, get close to the culture and being a part of an amazing program.
Before I came here, I had so many questions. How are the kids? Am I a good teacher? Is it going to be easy? How is it to stay in the homestay? Should I travel after my time at VP Bali?

Living in the homestay was a brilliant way to get even closer to the Balinese culture and the family. I came to Bali alone and after a few days, I had so many new friends, with who i could share my experience. Wayan, the owner of the homestay is really helpful and you can trust him. If you have any problems, his family will help you with everything.
When you live in a homestay, you are never alone.

I had amazing Co-Teachers and Helpers, who made teaching really easy.
All the volunteers are sharing their experiences, games and ideas, so I never ran out of games for my class.
I was in Room 2 and in both classes I had amazing kids. The moment, when you come to school and the kids run into your arms, asking you with a big smile how you are, is always a special moment.
I have learned so much from my kids, that i can‘t even say what exactly it was. I am so grateful for my kids, that they have been patient with me, happy about every game, coming to my class and always having a hug left for me.
I will never forget the letters or flowers, the kids gave to me.

After my time in VP Bali, I will go to Australia. Once you go away from home and start traveling, you can‘t stop anymore. Many of us volunteers changed their flights to travel threw Asia or other countries, which are close to bali. I can just recommend to book a flexible flightticket.

Now my time at VP Bali is over and I think, staying 10 weeks, was perfekt. It is a long time, but after this time, you can call this place your home. A home with so many people from all around the world, who are getting so close, that you can call them a family. This program changed my life and the way I see my life.

My experience in VP Bali is not finished yet, but I already regret to not spending more time here. VP Bali is not only teaching English to children and helping them to have a better future, this is way more than that!
VP Bali is discovering a new country, immersing in a new culture and changing your way of seeing life. VP Bali is growing up through a unique experience, learning from the kids and learning about yourself. VP Bali is meeting fabulous people, having tons of fun and making friends for life. VP Bali is visiting splendid places, travelling around Bali and going to places you never thought you could go. VP Bali is meeting adorable kids, smiling every time they give you a drawing or flower and crying when you need to say goodbye. VP Bali is living a wonderful experience, regretting that you can’t stay here forever and being more than thankful for everything.
VP Bali has been one of these moments in your life that stay engraved in you mind. A life changing experience, an unforgettable chapter, an extraordinary time. A thousand of thank you to Kim, Tutik, Indra, the other helpers, the kids, the other volunteers and all the people I have seen on my way here!

I was volunteering for three weeks in May 2019 and all I can say is that it was an amazing experience – one of the best times in my life so far. As soon as you arrive at Wena Homestay you immediately make new friends and feel like you have been there forever. Trust me when I say that it will never get boring!
The kids at school have been adorable and to teach them is a challenge you will definitely benefit from. Since the lessons are from Monday to Thursday in the afternoon, you will always have enough time to just chill or explore some places around.
I really can just recommend this programm to you if you want to travel Bali, look for a challenge and want to make new friends from all over the world.

Note: When I was applying for the program, I thought that three weeks might be even a little too long, but I actually regret that I did not stay longer. Time really flies and and the three weeks felt like one. So keep that in mind when planning the length of your stay 

I'm just getting done with a chapter in my life that I'd like to say is new, but I already feel home here. From this 4 week long program that I have been a part off, I take back so many lessons and learnings that I would have never experienced anywhere else. Volunteering as a teacher at VP Bali has to be one of the most real experiences that anyone can be a part off in the present day and age. Teaching the kids here and understanding the Founders' vision for the program makes you explore the flip side to the greedy, money driven society that we all live in! Here, it's just about loving and helping someone else stand up on their feet. That according to me, is the biggest learning that I take back. If you ever get a chance to get away from your busy schedules for maybe even 2 weeks or even a month or longer, this is where you need to be. I'm gonna miss home at VP Bali!

At first I was nervous going to a new place and teaching for the first time but that was just the first hour. I felt so comfortable in this program and it gave me proof that the little things in life are what matters. Was a great honor to be part of this program and make the slightest of change in someone's life. An overall experience filled with love, laughter, memories and heartfelt expeirnces. Not only did I have the opportunity to teach the most amazing kids but explore Bali, meet new friends and get to know a completely different yet beautiful culture. Bali is amazing filled with so many different things to do. My weeks were full of adventure and exploration. The kids I got to teach were the cutest and are very appreciative of everything. It was a real eye opener. If i had the chance I would have stayed for longer because once your there you won't want to leave.

When I applied to Vp Bali I thought 12 weeks were a lot but since the first minute in Bali I knew leaving would be hard! Staying at a homestay is the best part because you’ll get close to a local family and learn more about the culture and also hangout with the other volunteers all the time, so don’t worry you won’t be lonely!
Making friends is super easy, you will get this whole new family and the connection that you’ll make with them is amazing.
The kids are amazing, they want to know everything about you, they don’t want us to leave and you’ll want to stay forever (I would if I could), 2 weeks is nothing... if you have time go for at least 5 weeks. I was there for 12 weeks and it wasn’t enough.
About traveling you’ll have a lot of time for that, during the morning before school you can go to waterfalls, temples or chill at a pool. On weekends you can travel everywhere and explore the island. Don’t make plans before coming, you can make plans with other volunteers and travel together! Just go with the flow.
For me expending time in school and also with the volunteers was really important so we stayed at the homestay on the weekends and got to explore Ubud.
Vp Bali is the most amazing place and the best family I could ever have. The program is amazing, Balinese culture is amazing, kids and volunteers are amazing!!!! If you have the right purpose you’ll love it also!

This is the best volunteer program ever! I really enjoyed spending time here. I was for three weeks and wish I could've stayed longer. Old volunteers are super welcoming and nice with new volunteers. The kids are so grateful for having volunteers from around the world and they really enjoy learning English. Bali is the best place to do your volunteer because it has a lot of activities you can do during your free time. I had time to visit most of the places and still be in time for the classes. I loved to visit Bali through this program because they teach you and explain you a lot of things about their culture and religion that I wouldn't be able to figure them out by myself. I recommend to come here a 100000000% because you will make friends from around the world, learn about a new culture by spending time with the kids and at the same time teach them English (which they really enjoy practicing and learning) and last but not least, visit and get to know a new place in Indonesia.

Volunteer Program Bali is one of the most amazing experiences I have had so far in my entire life. When I first saw the program I was really excited to go. Fortunately, I was chosen to be part of the VP family and I'm very thankful for that. My job was to teach children between 9-12 years old, what really amazed me was how interested they were in learning and how respectful they are. Most of the kids are in very basic English so it is easy to teach them with games and interactive activities to maintain them interested. They love playing and learning new stuff due to the fact that English has become a necessity for their country. In the end, I ended up learning more from them, than them from me. Bali is an amazing place with a speechless culture and I'm convinced that anyone who has the opportunity of going and live the experience, will have the time of their lives.

First of all, I’ll tell you about the program.
It is perfectly organized, from the moment they pick you up from the airport, the transport to the school, class schedules, meetings and farewell.

You know where your money goes. You will see that the helpers, drivers and the homestay family, all Balinese benefiting of the program. The founder is always there, she’s an amazing person that will inspire you every day.

Im 34 years old and it is scary to leave everything behind and go volunteer in Bali, I came with no expectations rather than to give my heart to the kids. It was one of the best choices of my life! At the end they taught me more than I could ever imagined. At the end my fellow volunteers became my friends, my family. I just can’t imagine my life before them.
I volunteered for 2 months, if you are thinking to volunteer, go for it.
Bali is home and VP Bali will be your family. :)

My 4 weeks have truly been a life changing experience and one of the best months of my life. From the welcoming staff and the volunteers to the sweetest students ever, I loved everything about it. Living in the home stay was a brilliant way to get even closer to the Balinese culture and the family. Since you only teach 4 days a week you shouldn’t worry about not getting to do Alle the touristy stuff, I did plenty In only a month. The only negative thing I have to say is that it’s so hard to say goodbye to everyone. I would do it all over again though!
Bali is also a very safe island. I never felt unsafe of or worried about anything regarding the locals, they are very friendly and easy to befriend - the tourists are the people you should be aware of. The food is great in Ubud and very cheap. If you like me have a weak stomach there luckily plenty of western options.
