Great Virtual Internship Opportunities

Abroader did an impressive job getting creative to keep us interns engaged in an online setting. It was often difficult to stay motivated while working for a company across the world, but Abroader had weekly meetings with all the interns and local Vietnamese buddies so that we can learn more about the country and it’s culture. These events made the internship not only more fun, but added value to the overall educational experience. I definitely recommend applying for a position through Abroader.

Great virtual experience

I always felt very supported by the team, and they helped immensely to facilitate communication between me and the host company. They also created a really positive and energetic community which encouraged cultural engagement, and I not only learned a lot about Vietnam but also felt that I made friends along the way. I was very happy with the internship the team matched me with, and after working there this summer I feel much more confident and informed about possible future careers both technically and introspectively.

ABROADER Virtual Internship at VUN Art Vietnam

I had an amazing experience with ABROADER! I had the opportunity to work with VUN Art Vietnam, a fantastic social enterprise that empowers its workers, who are individuals with disabilities. I worked on a number of different projects, but I mostly worked on market research and development and marketing. I really enjoyed how engaging, exciting, and educational the internship was. The ABROADER team was very responsive and supportive, and I cannot recommend them enough! Additionally, the weekly cultural sessions really made me feel more connected to Vietnam's food, landscape, and culture even though I couldn't be there in person.

Remote ABROADER Review- Vun Art Internship

The ABROADER team is such an engaging and helpful organization to work with! I had an amazing virtual internship experience, as I was paired and worked with Vun Art- a social enterprise in Hanoi, Vietnam that employs individuals with disabilities to create art from recycled silk scraps. ABROADER helped me get everything ready for my internship and everyone was so responsive to my emails and messages. They served as mentors throughout my internship and organized incredible cultural exchange sessions with local students that allowed me to learn all about Vietnamese business culture, music, student life, food, family values, and so much more! Between my Vun Art host organization and my role on the project through my university, ABROADER helped me smoothly transition to my virtual internship and I couldn't have done it without their support. This is an experience I recommend to anyone seeking global development and cultural exchange experiences. Be sure to have ABROADER organize it for you, as their team is dedicated to your learning and they are one of the best organization's I have ever worked with!

What was your funniest moment?
I enjoyed a semester long virtual ABROADER experience. Their team was terrific and some of my funniest and most memorable experiences came from a live virtual dance party and a traditional Vietnamese cooking demonstration!

ABROADER Vun Art Collaboration

ABROADER is such a supportive organization. Everyone is so kind and wishes the best for you. Even in remote settings, you can connect with people across the globe from you. Professionally, ABROADER assists you with your internship, offering valuable advice and mentorship. A remote internship requires you to be self-directed and responsible, and communication becomes more vital than ever. I’m glad ABROADER was a helpful bridge between the intern and host organization. REMOTE INTERNSHIP ABROADER

I was doing an internship in Vietnam with the GreenHub organization. ABROADER made sure that I got more than working experience. I was able to have fun, meet new people, learn different things about Vietnamese culture and food, and many other things. Even though it was online, I really enjoyed the virtual experience from Vietnam. I am so grateful that I got an opportunity to do an internship in Vietnam and I am thankful for the people I met and everything I learned. I hope I will have a chance to visit the place in person.

Had such a fun virtual experience!

Julie and Ngan are incredible-- gained so much out of this and was really impressed by how organized this internship was given that it was virtual and across multiple timezones. The Abroader team checks in regularly and we have weekly meetings. They also organize cultural sessions which are really fun to attend-- I learned a lot about Vietnamese culture and again, was so impressed by how easy it was to make this connection with people I had never met before virtually. All in all, a great experience.

Incredible experience! Would recommend

It was an incredible experience and made something valuable out of the difficult situation of Covid-19. I learned so much about Vietnam and was able to connect with a bunch of peers in Vietnam. It was also a great social outlet during a remote internship which can feel isolating sometimes. I am so thankful for all the support Abroader provided and all the work they put into making a really great program. If you are doing a remote internship or looking to learn more about vietnam, this program is perfect for you.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Be engaged and talk during the zoom meetings! You'll only get out of it what you are willing to put into it!

Sara’s Review

I had such an incredible experience as a Public Health Remote Intern in Hanoi, Vietnam. From the support I received to the work I did with my team, I could not have asked for a more positive internship experience. Despite the fact that I was not able to travel to Vietnam, I felt so connected to the people and culture. The relationships I have built and the lessons I have learned are so priceless and humbling. I truly commend this program for the wonderful work they do and I am so incredibly grateful

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
The advice I would give as a former intern is to always keep an opened mind and be willing to adapt to unfamiliar circumstances. Flexibility is very important and makes the experience considerably more enjoyable.

An Internship that Brought a lot of Happiness During a Tough Time

My internship through ABROADER was truly a worthwhile experience. Not only did I genuinely enjoy the work I did for my host organization, but having ABROADER's support and community really enhanced my remote internship. Having weekly culture sessions and buddy chats, and getting to talk regularly to the ABROADER staff and local buddies, made me feel like I was actually in Vietnam. I think this aspect of their program is really unique, because it makes doing an internship in a brand new place much less intimidating; everyone is so friendly and welcoming, I never felt alone when navigating this new adventure. I genuinely feel that I was able to connect with people and make new friends despite being thousands of miles away.

What was your funniest moment?
With the culture sessions and buddy chats, there were a lot of fun, happy moments. I think I laughed the hardest when making a video with a fellow intern and two local buddies for ABROADER's farewell group session. We tried creating a parody to Grease's Summer Nights, but being that none of us are musically talented, and we had to deal with the lag from Zoom when singing all together, our finished product was quite chaotic. Regardless, it was a lot of fun to work on all together, and seeing our video at the session gave me a really great laugh.
