ABROADER changed my life

I flew into Vietnam on my birthday, and from the moment I saw my local buddy holding a little birthday cake for me when she picked me up from the airport I knew this was going to be an amazing 8 weeks. The summer of 2023 interns arrived in 3 separate groups and my individual group has become some of my favorite people. My host organization has been incredibly welcoming and while I help them with English they get to help me learn some Vietnamese. I was scared coming to a country where I could not speak to anyone but a large majority understand English or I find other ways to communicate (ie. google translate).

Pros
  • Friendly employees everywhere I went
  • ABROADER always is there to help
  • Experience Vietnam and learn from my host company

Summer in Vietnam

I couldn't have found a better program. I absolutely loved my time in Vietnam, and I always felt supported by the team at Abroader. Even before I landed in Vietnam, they were able to assist with ever issue I had. They were there every step of my journey. I genuinely do not think I would have had as much fun and been as supported anywhere else. They set me up with the absolute best internship and paired me with other interns who were absolutely phenomenal. I never felt alone in Vietnam because I knew Abroader would be there for me.

Pros
  • Caring and Supportive Staff Members
  • Affordable
  • Amazing Internship Placements
Cons
  • Hard to connect with other groups if they aren't the people you came in with.
  • Some students come through a program at their university, so you really have to try to connect with people if you didn't come from the same school.

My experience in Vietnam

It's a very nice opportunity to learn about a new culture and about the work culture in a different country. You get to meet lot of people, become friends with them and you have a great support from Abroader staff and the local buddies. The locals and the coworkers are really welcoming. They are very curious and want to know more about you. Also, the food and coffee are delicious. Transportation in the city is easy and travelling to other cities during weekends is easy too. I really appreciated my time here and even though I came to this country alone, I quickly felt like I wasn't alone anymore.

It's never too old to learn new things

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Every single person in this company truly care for the happiness, well being and growth of each student. I enjoyed the activities we did with each cohort. Whether it was eating out together or a night out at a local karaoke establishment. All of it is fun. The internship site they placed me was what I also needed as well. I did my internship late. I am in my early 30's. I finished college but it took me 6 years to be able to get enough time off to attend this program. It goes to show that it's never to late to learn new things, start a new adventure and make friends that are close to half your age! The team at Abroader is very attentive throughout the program and ensures also your safety. Thus why they prepare you with a local buddy. I am not a beginner to independent travels so most activities I kindly excused myself because I also was there to connect with my father who I have never met and my extended family in Vietnam. If you're on the fence as to which program to enlist in.. I highly recommend Abroader. They are so caring and professional. You will learn a lot, play a lot and discover a lot about this beautiful country.

Pros
  • Friendly and professional staff
  • Tons of group activities to take part in
  • Lots of support prior, during and towards the ending of your program
Cons
  • Accommodation was too small for my taste. But it was safe, cozy, and at the heart of the city. Ideal for students but probably not for someone older and who's need for open space and independence.

Culture and Emerging Economy Program

The entire two weeks of the program was conducted well beyond my expectations. In addition to being informative and relevant to what I am currently studying, the trip exposed me to a completely new environment. Whilst this may, typically, be quite an overwhelming experience, the very kind people at abroader made us feel at home and ensured that we were on track with the program from day one. Thanks for the great memories and see you soon:))

Pros
  • Friendly local buddies
  • Food

Vietnam Immersion Tour

The trip was extremely unique, guided by locals to ensure as “local” and authentic a trip as possible. Our tour was diverse and having left Vietnam I feel as though I have, because of this tour, a genuine grasp on Vietnamese culture, society, food and way of life. This trip has allowed me to make amazing friends I never thought I would and for that I am most very grateful. I would suggest to anyone who is unsure about embarking on a tour such as this one … take the step, you will find as I did that it will be well worth it

Pros
  • Authentic Experience
  • Diverse activities
  • Make new friends
Cons
  • Quite busy days

Singapore and Vietnam Program

For the 4 weeks I was overseas, there was never a dull day. The program was clear and exciting. I am really happy I did this program and will never forget the experiences and friends I have made. They showed me all the tourist and local areas, which made the trip more enjoyable. Experiencing the different culture was a major highlight to me, as they helped me develop my Vietnamese. I felt safe with the people at Abroader and were always excited to hang out with us and know about our own culture as well. Overall the trip was amazing and I’d recommend it to anyone, it’s something I will never forget

Pros
  • Local buddies
  • Experiences
Cons
  • Lack of free days

Amazing Experience in HCMC with Abroader

Abroader does a great job of handling all of the logistics that can bog down someone looking to experience travel abroad. The local buddies are super friendly and helpful! I also enjoyed all of the trips and activities that were planned for us. I was happy with the internship Abroader helped find for me and I was given exciting, meaningful responsibilities My Internship provided me with enough training to allow me to come away with real, tangible, and useful skills. Everyone was very welcoming to us throughout the internship and there was a good amount of communication. Highly recommend working and exploring Vietnam with Abroader!

Pros
  • Friendly Local Buddies

A Good Time in Vietnam

ARBOADER provided a wonderful time for me in Vietnam this summer. I was able to experience an internship with an architecture consulting firm and it was very interesting. Besides the housing and other support, my favorite part was the local buddies! The local buddies helped guide me to many fun places. ABROADER was also able to set up cultural immersion events, so it was very fun getting to learn more about the culture. I always felt like I was in good care when I talked to the people in the program. I would recommend applying to ARBOADER's program to explore Vietnam.

Pros
  • Local Buddies
  • Delicious Food
  • Many local attractions
Cons
  • Crossing the street
  • weather is very hot

An Unforgettable Experience

I'm so grateful I was able to intern in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with ABROADER. Never would I have been able to arrange this on my own, and ABROADER went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. They paired me with local buddies who befriended me and showed me parts of the city or how to cook certain dishes - not only in the first week but throughout the duration of my two months in Vietnam. ABROADER also looked out for me if I was sick or needed support. As I'm back in the US now, I'll always be jealous of my housing in Vietnam - it was amazing! If you have the opportunity to work with ABROADER, definitely do it! Vietnam is such a dynamic country and HCMC is so special. I'm hoping I'll be back there soon, this time for longer than two months :)

Pros
  • Traveling all around Vietnam on the weekends
  • The best and cheapest food ever
  • True cultural immersion
