This was by far the most amazing experience of my life. I became a strong, independent individual by stepping out of my comfort zone and moving to a new country. I met some amazing lifelong friends who made the trip amazing. Not only did I have the chance to engage in my host family's culture, I also had several opportunities to travel around Europe on my days off. It has been the best 3 months of my life and I am extremely saddened that it is almost coming to an end. If I could change one thing it would be to have chosen to stay for 6 months.

I know this may be getting repetative now after looking at previous reviews but I could honestly not recommend this program enough. It is a great way to meet new people from around the world, get a little refresher on the English language (which after a while you realize you may not know as well as you thought), and gain some practical experience with Czech students that will prepare you for working in the field.

In preparation to come over to Prague I had so many questions and concerns. The staff here were extremely helpful and reassuring, answering anything I had to ask and providing the necessary resources to prepare for my trip (just make sure to educate youself about the visa process beforehand, specific to the country you are coming from). This one-month course was intensive, and if you have no prior experience teaching, like me, lesson planning can be a bit of a challenge at first but you do get the hang of it after a while - I promise!

Overall I think the course was a great experience with an awesome team to help you out along the way. You’ll meet so many new people and the experience of living is Prague is something I can’t even describe. If you’re on the fence about taking this program, all I can tell you is that you will not regret it!

These past 4 weeks have delivered more than I could have ever asked for in a TEFL course. I had been researching for over a year where exactly I should go for this certification. There are SO many options out there but this 4 week TEFL program in Prague with Hello Academies really stood out the most because of how personable the staff is and how diligent the course load is. Within the first week I already felt like I was apart of the family here in such a welcoming environment. Barbora is an amazing instructor and I feel overly prepared for my job hunt that I'm about to embark on here in Prague. Within day 4 of the course, I was already teaching English to a classroom of Czech students. Not a lot of other programs provide that vital experience in a TEFL course.The staff here is always willing to help out with anything whether it be assistance finding housing or visa guidance. They also go out of their way to organize social events so we can feel more included in the expat life here in Prague. Would you rather be in a classroom with over 30 other TEFL students and lack of one on one attention or a with a close knit bunch that is overly qualified to help? It was really a no brainer for me.

This TEFL course was very valuable as it has successfully prepared me to teach English as a foreign language. It was helpful taking the course in person as the support received was extremely useful. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to receive their TEFL certificate. I felt very welcome from the moment I met the staff here in Prague at Hello Academies. The assistance they have provided from the course knowledge and objectives to learning the life in Prague and settling in has been greatly appreciated. I enjoyed coming in everyday to the TEFL offices because of the people I have been around. My days have been filled with fun and adventure since arriving in Prague and it has been the people who have made it great. I am now ready to take my next step towards living and working in Prague as an English teacher and I would not be as readily prepared without this course and people who run it.

I am so happy I chose this program over others I had considered! Everything from the people, staff class, accommodations, PRAGUE was nothing shy of AWESOME!! I highly recommend Hello Academies to ALL!!

For me this course was a spur of the moment choice and has turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. The course was great from day one. A wonderful introduction set the tone for the month. The staff was always amazingly friendly and helpful.

The day to day schedule is fairly simple. A couple of learning sessions in the morning and then they afternoons are spent preparing for lessons. We teach students who are always very willing to participate and eager to learn.

The company holds several events throughout the month to encourage socializing with Alumni of the course. The staff is always willing to answer any questions you may have and work to solve any problems that may arise.

I would highly recommend participating in this program.

This course has been a great experience from start to finish. The staff that work here are incredibly helpful, and the TEFL trainer Barbora (who takes the course) is an amazing teacher, and no doubt made the whole experience for everyone on the course. As soon as you touch down in Prague you are met by a member of staff and taken straight to your accommodation. This is extremely helpful as it helps you to settle in to living in a different country. Once the course starts you soon get to know your fellow classmates, and there are many events and activities organised by Smaller Earth to help you make the most of your time here. We had a movie night, pub night (you can win a free drink!), went to a hockey game and did a tour of the city. The course itself is very intensive, so do not take this course if you are looking for an easy ride. You have to work very hard, but there is a great amount of support provided and always someone you can look to for advice or help.

Overall, I couldn't recommend this course enough. If you want a life changing experience that will qualify you to teach across the world, go for it! You will not regret it, and the team here in Prague will make sure it is one of the best decisions you could make.

If you're anything like me, the idea of restarting my life abroad was nerve racking and exciting all at once. There were so many questions that needed to be answered, and, at the end of the day, you were obligated to put an incredible amount of trust into a TEFL program. After going through the program with Hello Academies, I can say that you can trust them fully. Barbra, the course instructor is amazing and actually cares about her students. The rest of the staff is extremely helpful, and you become close friends with the other students and the staff of the program. The experience is amazing. Prague is a fun city, and the money is enough to get by.

I have worked for Smaller Earth as a Czech teacher before, so I knew how amazing this company and all the people in there are. I study Teaching English at the Charles University in Prague, however, I felt like I needed a more practical experience teaching, which is why I decided to do the TEFL course at Hello Academies, which is a part of the Smaller Earth group.
I have to say that this was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. There are so many reasons why I loved it so much, but I will try to only talk the most significant ones. For me, number one is definitely the fact that I finally got a chance to really learn how to teach effectively and correctly. We had teaching sessions every night starting day 4 of the first week, where I was usually teaching one lesson, then observing the other one and sometimes I had an afternoon off. I think that the mos rewarding thing for me was the feedback session after every lesson that we have taught. It helped me realize what I am doing wrong and I could improve on in immediately the next lesson.
Another thing that I value a lot about this course is the overall atmosphere in the classroom and the way everyone who works there is being helpful all the time. Shannon, who is in charge of the whole program, is definitely the sweetest person I have ever met. She is always willing to help all the participants with literally anything, whether it be finding a job or housing. Explaining how helpful she was not only throughout the course, but also before it started and even after it ended, would take me too long, so I better move on. Barbora, our TEFL trainer, is the smartest and craziest person I have ever encountered. She is always full of energy, knows all the answers and can explain grammar and everything else in such a way that everyone understands. She always made our lessons so much fun and I think that I have never laughed so much in my life as during these amazing 4 weeks of the TEFL course.
There are so many things I could write about, but I guess that I will just stop here with the statement that of you decide to do the TEFL course at Hello Academies, you will not regret for even one second. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
Oh, and I still work as a Czech teacher here, so if you decide to do your TEFL with Hello Academies, I will teach you some Czech as well! Yay! :D

Having just completed my TEFL certification with Hello Academies in Prague, I would like to tell you about my experience..

I have had the provilege of learing with some carefully picked studetns and most importantly an excellent trainer.

The trainer is a TEFL teacher herself and has many years of experience teacher English in different countries around the world. She taught fun and engaging lessons throughout the course, especially when it can to difficult concepts and topics. She was very engaging and approachable, knowledgeable and caring. We could ask as many questions as we needed and she was able to give concise and informative answers.

Not only does Hello Academies have a first class trainer but the rest of the office staff are friendly, helpful, and down-to-earth people who can help you with all aspects of living in a foreign country and will help you with finding a job afterwards. The Office Manager plans social events during yout time in the city so that you can get to knoe your fellow students andhave the opportunity to immerse youseld in the Czech culture. If you are thinking about becoming a TEFL teacher then I can happily recommend that you come to Prague and train with Hello Academies.

I cannot praise the Hello Academies team enough for what they have given me and while being here I have made friends for life.
