- Costa Rica
About Program
Though small in size and population, this Central American nation holds great significance on the global stage. About 5% of the world’s biodiversity resides in Costa Rica, making it a critical site for conservation efforts. Immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture for 4 weeks and learn how to make a sustainable impact within a community. You'll collaborate with a youth education non-profit, sea turtle conservation foundation, and sustainable development organization. Visit stunning waterfalls and hot springs, and zip-line through rainforest canopies in the Arenal Region. Experience breathtaking biodiversity in Manuel Antonio National Park. Reflect on your experiences and how you can apply what you’ve learned to your future during Leadership Academy at the University for Peace in San José. You could earn three semester hours of credit through our educational partnership with Southern New Hampshire University.
