Study Engineering at Udayana University

Apart from the classic technical and constructive tasks, engineers in Indonesia have to deal with special challenges: due to their location along the so called „Pacific Ring of Fire“, the Indonesian islands are exposed to frequent earth movements. One of the most important components of the engineer’s work is the development and implementation of earthquake-resistant buildings and constructions. Particular attention is also given to sustainability and the use of natural materials. Indonesia is excellent as a research area. Especially in Bali is a steady growing movement that focuses on sustainability. In addition, the course focuses on the development of urban traffic in Southeast Asia, alternative industrial technologies and manufacturing processes. The 15-week class “Southeast Asian Engineering” combines lectures, exercises and excursions.
