About Program

City College of San Francisco offers students of all ages the chance to study abroad in historic Rome, and beautiful Florence. This unique programs begins in Rome where students study the romantic Italian language and the city's world famous art and architecture through classroom lecture and onsite visits. After a short break which allows students to travel around Europe or stay "home" and gain more in-depth knowledge of Rome, the group moves to "la bella Firenze". Once settled into their apartments in Florence, the group will continue their Italian language studies, and also take a hybrid online Comparative Religions course with a CCSF professor. This offers scheduling flexibility throughout most of the time in Florence, and is enhanced with a two week visit by the instructor during which the students will go on many field trips to view historic sites of religious significance.
