About Program
The LIU Global Europe Program provides the opportunity for students to explore and experience the great cities of Europe and the impact that Europe has had on global history and politics. Through extended residence in Spain and Italy, as well as additional international field studies, students will gain unique perspectives on Europe’s cultures, conflicts, and political innovations, as well as the impact these forces have had on the rest of the world.
The fall semester is based at the Franklin Institute at the University of Alcalá de Henares, and the spring semester is based at the Florence School of Fine Arts. The curriculum combines courses and fieldwork that will introduce you to the forces that have produced modern Europe, and the economic and political institutions that govern the European Union. In addition to required and elective courses, you will expand your knowledge of political development through travel to France, Germany, the U.K., Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Morocco.
